Obama's primetime address is on for Wednesday Sept.10 . . .
the NY Times is reporting that President Obama will tonight point out to the nation
the need for air attack on ISIL outposts in Syria.

Exactly one year after Obama’s first Syria speech, he’s giving another. Why everything is different this time around

We already know the oratory style of U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) compared to the
other US Senators including those of the great State of Kentucky . . .

Mitch McConnell leads push for ISIL vote
http://www.politico.com/story/2014/09/mitch-mcconnell-isil-vote-110781.html

Public awareness and especially the recent increased internet chatter about ISIL's ability - is eerily reminiscent of the September 10, 2001 internet chatter
that occurred on the MSNBC bulletin board on the eve of the World Trade Center bombings of 911 - known as the Skyhooks reference (an Australian band).
The UK has increased it's terror alert level while the US administration seems paralyzed . . . metaphorically sitting on it's hands.

but when (?) . . . and what does it take for the US Senate to act . . . (?)

While US Senators may ultimately diverge on potential Senate approval of US strikes on ISIL targets . . .

some, including Senator Rand Paul (R-Kentucky), Senator Angus King (I-Maine), Senator Bill Nelson (D-Florida),
and Tim Kaine (D-Virginia) believe it is Congress' duty to weigh in.

Also, these events show that IT IS neither Congress nor the President but rather the
military industrial complex (MIC) that has the citizens by the huevos . . . LOL

Is it okay if we made a poll in general politics asking how many here think he has the legal authority to go after ISIS in Syria right now? I know there are a number of members on this forum that believe in the air strikes and immediate military action including going into Syria, I wonder if they believe that Obama has the authority to do that now without getting any type of up or down vote from congress, as seems to be the direction they are going with. The one exception being a possible vote on additional funds needed in the general war on terrorism, but without mention of Syria or specifics.
