The reality, though, is that these people who participate in these kinds of mob assaults don't tend to be the kind of people who would survive when the s really hits the fan. Basically, just wait for the quickie mart to be emptied or looted and watch them drop like flies after a week or so. Then how tough are they? Hm? Now it's a broad assumption that it will get that way but this kind of thing we see here is certainly an inticator as to how it could or would.

Both the alleged attacker and the victim are black, reports The State, a Columbia, S.C. newspaper.

The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon on a bus carrying students who attend Northwestern High School.

The unidentified assault victim, 16, told investigators she exited the bus on McDow Drive, a winding street dotted with small ranch-style houses. Shortly after she got off the bus, she said, her attacker violently punched her a bunch of times, then fled the scene.

This is a good time to have a 30 round magazine for a rifle or a concealed carry for a glock ... I don't care what people say. If someone punches me or kicks me, I will shoot them. Why? Because a punch can kill you. I rather be judged by 12 people than to be carried by 6.

A punch to the temple or a punch that knocks me out and I fall and hit my head the wrong way. Ideally one would try to avoid the mob and go the other direction.. but sometimes you aren't as lucky or unable to.

It is still a risk though, out of a crowd of 100, a few of them would also be armed as well.

I've been involved in a mob situation of that exact nature when I was a young teen. 3 of my buddies and I were at the local mall when multiple fights broke out. We were forced onto the city bus by mall security that was packed beyond maximum capacity and stuck getting dropped off in the same neighborhood with them. My buddy was punched in the face pretty hard by a member of the group who followed us off the bus. Luckily us standing our ground was enough to back them off. Considering we were out numbered 10 to 4 I feel that we got lucky. Not to mention we were the only white people on the bus of over 200..I'm glad only the 10 got off with us.

Kinda. But A LOT happened in Detroit. Not at all to suggest that crime isn't/wasn't a major contributor. It sure as hell is. But it was also a symptom of greater, more complex issues. Crime was far from the only thing that went wrong there.

The teen watched the angry mob beat his friends until they couldn’t move. But he says what’s even more terrifying, more traumatizing is that this is second the weekend he`s witnessed a mob of violent kids attack random people in the shopping plaza parking lot.

Oh, my mistake. This was on weekend, so the majority of the Police were probably out violating the Constitution at checkpoints. It takes a lot of officers to set up roadblocks and investigate everyone driving down the road. Even more officers are required if they need to tie people down, put them in a choke-hold, and take their blood.
