As for the Republicans (http://www.usaelectionpolls.com/), Fred Thompson is clearly the big winner in all of this. His candidacy is gaining a lot of momentum and he has not even fully started a campaign. The last Strategic Vision Iowa poll had F. Thompson sitting at just 10%. This is great news for him. John McCain is slowly dropping down to the middle to lower tiers in Iowa as his message on immigration sets himself apart from the Republican party. Mike Huckabee is looking good here. He has to like seeing himself at 5% in Iowa especially this far from the last debate where he started his jump. The reason? Because there is an Iowans for Tax Relief forum coming up in just a few days and Huckabee has yet another chance to get his name out there to the American people and to the Iowans. It would not surprise us if Huckabee was to get 10% in Iowa in the next couple of months but a couple of things would have to happen, namely the dropoff of many of the other candidates like Gilmore, Hunter, and Tancredo.

Indeed, once Fred Thompson announces, then he can be revealed for the establishment, statist, longtime lobbyist, cfr, fraud that he is. Romney, will eventually crash and burn, as the Republican base just will not go for the robo-candidate. Ghooliani, the cross-dressing war-mongerer tough-guy, has more skeletons in his closet than the catacombs of Rome. Ghooliani won't last. McCain is a footnote.

Now the stir against the Iraq war in the Republican party grows. With time, effort, and some luck, Paul's Star should indeed rise over the course of the summer and fall.

IMO, Ron Paul has to get above Huckabee next. I think he has already distanced himself somewhat from the other "2nd tier" candidates. Huckabee has one big advantage. Being the Fmr. Gov. of Arkansas, he can campaign full time. Ron Paul has to squeeze in campaigning in between his congressional work. Hopefully, during summer recess, he can really start spending a lot of time in NH and IA.

By the way, I have no respect for Huckabee. A few weeks ago on Fox News, he said that one of the candidates for the Rep. Nomination (he would say Ron Paul) thinks we deserved 9-11. This guy is a preacher. So much for not bearing false witness.

I think the most interest detail in these numbers is there's been almost no movement in the numbers for Tommy Thompson and Brownback. By all accounts they are campaigning like crazy in Iowa. It's disappointing that Ron's numbers are stuck at 2%, but he really still is pretty unknown to most people, so hopefully this will change in the next couple months.

Whatever our fundraising numbers are for this quarter, it would be nice if he's ahead of all but the "top 3" (and whatever's been given to Fred T's exploratory committee).

Ron needs to get his message out there about illegal immigration. He has not done that well, as of yet. Americans are VERY PO'd about the illegal alien invasion of our country, and he badly needs to capitalize on this!
