It has come to my attention that the Hidalgo County Jail and Judge Mario E. Ramirez, Jr. Juvenile Justice Center are consistently overcrowding their detention facilities. The suggestions from the previous and current Sheriff for resolving the issue of overcrowding could potentially be harmful to the monetary stability of the county and municipalities.
