View Full Version : Surprised and Ashamed - Could you, in good conscience, vote for anyone else?

I'm referring to a thread where people were asked to rank who they would vote for if RP doesn't get the nomination or something to that effect:

http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=45585

I don't mean to be mean to anybody but seriously - you folks who are even considering voting for anyone other than Ron Paul, after you have heard his message and compared it with that of his "peers," ought to be ashamed of yourself!

The other candidates, democrats, republicans, or whatever, are a combination of corporate-run shills, lunatics, socialists, and so on. In short, they are POLITICIANS.

Ron Paul is not a politician, he is the first STATESMAN to run for President in a long time, and I find it discouraging that the people who are motivated by Dr. Paul's message could find some way to support these other politicians if Dr. Paul does not get the nomination. Remember why everyone hated '04? "The lesser of two evils" is STILL EVIL!

The reason we, or at least I, love Ron Paul so much is that he gives us an option that is finally something other than evil, namely, he is GOOD! On the ballot or not, whether he stands a chance or not come election time, no one other than Ron Paul has proven themselves worthy of our votes.

I plan on voting for Paul regardless of who gets the nomination.

I will be writing him in or checking him off. There is no other choice for me.

And this rant could not of been posted in the thread itself? Did we really need a whole new thread for this?

Short of RP being the nominee, the best possible thing for the revolution come 2012 would be for the most despicable of the bunch to be our next president. That said, I will write Ron Paul in come November.

Dr. Paul is getting my vote, no thought of anyone else. I will not consider anyone else. It would be doubtful that RP would give his support to anyone else or ask his supporters to.

I think if we have time to ask that question he/she should be out handing out material and raising support for Sr. Paul to win.

I won't vote for anyone else except Ron Paul. I stated this in the thread and I, too, was astonished that other people were considering voting for Tancredo, Thompson, and Biden. I reminded someone what Biden has voted for in the past and I'm glad someone exposed Tancredo as well. I'm voting for Ron Paul in the primaries and the general election. Nobody else will get my vote.

My vote will go to Dr. Paul or 3rd party if necessary. Worst case I'll sit this one out if there is no worthy candidate. Will not sell my soul.

I'm so glad that every thread spawns a whole bunch of child threads. Can't we keep this stuff together? Its so annoying.

I agree with this message 100%. I tried posting a couple things on the thread to a similar effect. If we are to affect real change, whether Ron Paul gets nominated or not, we need to stick to our principles. That means even if you have to look to a third party, a little known candidate, or someone that's not on the ballot, make sure to vote for FREEDOM. This is a rEVOLution, remember? No way should we willingly go back to the status quo, and the days for compromise are over. Our rights and freedoms, both personal and economic, have been trampled, and there is no place for compromise with tyranny. My vote is for the constitution, and if the country is going to be further distorted from the ideals it was founded upon it will not be done with my help. Perpetrating evil is evil, be it lesser or greater.

Ron Paul will be a write in candidate for me if he is not on the Republican ticket or running as an independent.

If you truly believe in Dr. Paul's message, and he does not run, the only real choice is to vote for the Libertarian candidate. This is the only party that truly espouses his philosophy.

I'm voting for Paul but if someone held a gun to my head and made me choose between neocons I'd go for Tancredo

I'm glad this came back up as the other thread made me so disgusted I felt like there were so many traitors and couldn't believe they were even thinking about voting for someone else. WRITE IN Dr. PAUL

Won't be necessary, he's going to run (L) or (I) if he doesn't get the nomination.

Some people might vote for another candidate to show their contempt for the system. If you don't like what you get, you poison the well for everyone else, so to speak. At least that's what I'd do if I was angry enough. Eventually the choices would get so bad they would be forced to look elsewhere.

(I did not select another candidate on that list. It's write-in for primary and LP vote in election for me)

Or the Constitution Party possibly too write? Or is that just them begging for him but not actually a possibility?

And NO I wouldn't vote for anyone else lol. At first I thought for awhile I could vote for Huckabee and not be happy about it, but I wouldn't vote for him either now. I used to think he was a pro-war Ron Paul basically, but was I ever wrong lol.

The thing that got me was people saying ROMNEY was their next choice!?!

I mean ROMNEY!?!? He's no different than Giuliani other than one's Catholic and one's Mormon, and one openly supports abortion while the other lies about being against it....

I'm voting him President for the rest of my life, unless someone else comes along with the message.

I'm 27, btw.
