In 2013, Planned Parenthood received $540.6 million dollars from various government sources to kill unborn children. Now, PBS is using your tax dollars to promote this evil practice.

Tomorrow night, at 10 p.m. Eastern, PBS is showing “After Tiller,” a documentary that follows the lives of four late-term abortion doctors after their colleague George Tiller was shot. The movie, according to the directors, is to “change public perception of third-trimester abortion providers by building a movement dedicated to supporting their right to work with a special focus on maintaining their safety.” The movie has previously been screened for Members of Congress, “with the goal of ultimately affecting votes related to abortion rights.”

Perhaps even more egregious than the showing is what PBS is also providing with your dollars. From my LifeSiteNews colleague Kirsten Andersen:

Meanwhile, concerned parents should be advised that the film may soon be showing in a classroom near you. Because PBS is airing the documentary as part of its “POV” series, described as “documentaries with a point of view,” the network has made a “partner toolkit” available and is encouraging teachers and activists to borrow the documentary and host screenings in their classrooms and communities. The “toolkit” includes publicity materials, a discussion guide, lesson plan and reading list.

The toolkit, which can be seen here, has graphics entitled “How States Restrict Abortion.” It also asks discussion participants to ask what the nation needs after Tiller. Samples offered are “information,” “information,” and “dialogue.” Likewise, pro-life sidewalk counselors are called “anti-abortion,” while the pro-abortion side is described as “pro-choice” and supporting “abortion rights” and “reproductive rights.”

And the abortion-supporting research group Guttmacher is regularly cited in the toolkit.

On Friday, I got a couple of answers from PBS on the whole debacle, including their reasoning for showing the documentary:

POV told LifeSiteNews, “We do believe that ‘After Tiller’ adds another dimension to an issue that is being debated widely.” Asked if POV will show a pro-life documentary, the organization said that it “does not have any other films currently scheduled on this issue. POV received almost 1000 film submissions each year through our annual call for entries and we welcome the opportunity to consider films with a range of points of view.”

When asked whether POV was concerned about alienating its viewership — since PBS received… federal tax dollars in 2012 and half of Americans identify as pro-life — POV said, “The filmmakers would like the film to add to the discussion around these issues. Abortion is already a legal procedure.”

“This is an issue that people feel passionately about and will have a passionate response to. We are hopeful that the majority of people can see it for what it is, another lens on a very difficult issue.”

Got that? PBS wants to air a discussion about third-trimester abortions, which the directors of “After Tiller” admit is only supported by 14 percent of the American people. And what is that small minority supporting? Only the complete dismemberment of children who can feel pain, including those who can survive outside the womb. (For the realities of how abortion works, check out the detailed congressional testimony of former abortionist Anthony Levatino of how abortion is done — complete with “suction catheters” and a clamp.)

I wonder how much time in the film they spent dedicated to covering the work of Kermit Gosnell. I mean to be balanced and all that...

I won't be watching, but I think it's pretty safe to say zero.

George Tiller deserved to get shot just like someone who was hired to exterminate Jews for the Nazis would have deserved to get shot. Not only should their safety not be "promoted", it is a good thing if they are not safe.

When the team members entered the clinic, they were appalled, describing it to the Grand Jury as 'filthy,' 'deplorable,' 'disgusting,' 'very unsanitary, very outdated, horrendous,' and 'by far, the worst' that these experienced investigators had ever encountered. There was blood on the floor. A stench of urine filled the air. A flea-infested cat was wandering through the facility, and there were cat feces on the stairs. Semi-conscious women scheduled for abortions were moaning in the waiting room or the recovery room, where they sat on dirty recliners covered with blood-stained blankets. All the women had been sedated by unlicensed staff – long before Gosnell arrived at the clinic – and staff members could not accurately state what medications or dosages they had administered to the waiting patients. Many of the medications in inventory were past their expiration dates… surgical procedure rooms were filthy and unsanitary… resembling 'a bad gas station restroom.' Instruments were not sterile. Equipment was rusty and outdated. Oxygen equipment was covered with dust, and had not been inspected. The same corroded suction tubing used for abortions was the only tubing available for oral airways if assistance for breathing was needed…"[30]

[F]etal remains [were] haphazardly stored throughout the clinic– in bags, milk jugs, orange juice cartons, and even in cat-food containers... Gosnell admitted to Detective Wood that at least 10 to 20 percent... were probably older than 24 weeks [the legal limit]... In some instances, surgical incisions had been made at the base of the fetal skulls. The investigators found a row of jars containing just the severed feet of fetuses. In the basement, they discovered medical waste piled high. The intact 19-week fetus delivered by Mrs. Mongar three months earlier was in a freezer. In all, the remains of 45 fetuses were recovered ... at least two of them, and probably three, had been viable.

This is the type of accumulated heinous acts that could bring a flood.

I was told many years ago that PBS and NPR get most of their funds from donations/fund drives. If that's right, it's not exactly accurate to call the murder clinic show taxpayer-funded.

We need to continually hammer in HOW evil these people are. Yes, they are bad, but its not just that they are bad, its that they (as a group) are literally just as bad as Hitler and his nazis. No, worse. Hitler never even dreamed of killing that many people.

I wish we could late term abort Obama. And Bush and pretty much every tyrant that came before him.

They learned that if they send a bunch of pencil necked pussies out there to read milquetoast propaganda that they could get away with anything. Hitler as a front man was too crazy and therefore it was easy to detect that he was a tyrant. These cold, university-trained sociopaths are much more dangerous.

At least Bush will never kill anyone else. Can't say the same about Obama.
