I call bullshit. Though I think Russia is the best hope for the people of East Ukraine under assault from Kiev.

They were reporting the Aid Convoy as an invasion,, and even claimed tanks were involved.. (they were not)
Russia is the only force in the area that could put an end to the atrocities,, but so far have refused to be baited into it.

The thing that really bothers me is the way all of the headlines I've been reading recently have been seeming to point towards Russia.

US and Russia flying into each others airspace. Russian hackers attack US banks. US sanctions against Russia, and now this.

Either the Russians are making a lot of shifty moves for some dark purpose or the MSM is painting a target on them for their own dark purpose. We all know that relations between the US and Russia are worsening, and it really worries me considering that we are the only two nations capable of ending the world.

What tank columns?

Do you mean the truck convoy of Humanitarian aid that was held up for weeks,, and then called an "invasion" when they finally delivered it.

I have seen NO Evidence of Russian Tank Columns. Though I have heard that claim several times.
The Ukraine Army is not in smoking ruin.(and it would be if such was true)

Dramatic claims like Ukraine has been making require evidence, and they produce none. Meanwhile, the only copy of the ATC tapes from the MH17 incident - which they squarely blame on Russia - lie in the hands of the Ukraine security apparatus, blackholed from the world.

Don't forget a mass amount of Ukrainian amour was confiscated by the eastern Oblasts in the beginning... also from the huge defections from the Ukrainian army. They set a trap, drew them in, and it worked, makes NATO experts look like a bunch of buffoons. Very impressed by the tactical planning operations, now the Junta ZioNazi forces are entrapped, Whammo... oh the irony of Stalingrad.

I have seen a few,, some video of Tanks and other hardware.. on the Russian side of the border.

When the Aid convoy was being held up for two weeks at the border,, there was a bunch.

With the Nazi takeover of their neighbor,, and threats from the very beginning,, I do not blame them for beefing up border security.

Just as I can't blame Ukrainians of Russian ancestry for being concerned about the threats from the Nazis in Kiev.

Stepping back from the current war frenzy, let's look at the bigger picture.

There are areas in eastern Ukraine that were relatively recently part of Russia. All of Ukraine was part of the Soviet Union. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, it may have made sense for those Russian speaking and Russian ethnic areas to go back to being part of Russia. It seems that they want to do that now.

They want to be independent or part of Russia. Why should I care whether they are independent, part of Ukraine or part of Russia? Why should the US care? Why should anyone care? Why is that an emergency? Why should bombs be dropping causing death and destruction? Why?

Can't speak for that person.

Most people do care about death and destruction. That's why there is so much charity after disasters. But when there is civil war, it's more a question of policing the world. It's perfectly acceptable to care, yet not want to play global Police, get involved, and probably make matters worse.

But I don't care at all if some city is on one side of a border or the other. I would prefer that they find a civilized, reasonable and rational solution to any disagreements.

Sadly, if it "blows up" the only draft you feel will be from a neutron bomb.

Hopefully, Putin is a rationale actor and will walk away happy to have Crimea in the fold. Not much else to gain in Eastern Ukraine if RU hopes to stay in the circle of trust.

Really, if RU has any kind of dreams of rapprochement with the West it can't "invade Ukraine" with regular forces.

I don't quite know how this was allowed to happen, but many of the weapon systems that Russia relies upon are manufactured and supported in Ukraine. I suppose that Russia was under the assumption that their relationship with Ukraine was stable, and the US/EU coup was a bit sudden and unexpected.

I imagine that Russia's situation was not the product of gross stupidity like the US, where many of our weapon systems rely upon parts made in China.

Neoliberalism is a word that refers to what are more or less moderate libertarians. Milton Friedman being the most famous. Hayek himself wasn't a neoliberal, but he is probably the second most popular among neoliberals.

Not many neoliberals want a gigantic military spanning the globe. Most want a small military budget as it is a wage of money.

Does anyone think the Ukraine - Russia conflict could have been avoided had Russia complied with US demands and extradited Edward Snowden?

Seems to me that the removal of pro-Russia president Yanukovitch was payback for granting Snowden asylum.I don't think so... the overthrow and capture of resources in the Ukraine has been planned long ago and the US government has spent $6 Billion (http://www.sott.net/article/273602-US-Assistant-Secretary-of-State-Victoria-Nuland-says-Washington-has-spent-5-billion-trying-to-subvert-Ukraine) over the past ~10 years setting up the groups and working with the Fascists and Zionists within Ukraine. It's obvious, the US/NATO global locus have underestimated every country they were to inflict their dictatorial Fascist type of New World Order; Iraq, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Syria, Egypt, Tunisia, Libya, U.A.E. Qatar, Bahrain, Somalia, Georgia, Romania, Moldova, ahhhh, everywhere, take your pick. There's been meetings and even group photos for years with the 'USUAL SUSPECTS' Yatsenyuk, Klitschko,

Victoria Nuland, heck, all the Kagans, have a permanent fiefdom in the entire US State Department, DOD cloaks, even the Israeli MOSSAD that was a major player behind the Kiev protests (http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/ukraine-protests-israeli-ex-officer-leads-militant-group-1436865), have been working Ukraine for years on this overthrow... It appears the US/NATO control has also the eastern European nations economically-financially controlled. Heck even outspoken Polish Foreign Minister, Radoslaw Sikorski, was caught in another wiretap saying, "It is even harmful, because it creates for Poland a false sense of security." ...who earlier this year was named as a contender for NATO secretary-general. ... (BMD) shield, designed to just protect U.S. troops and allies(western Europe) from missile attack by Iran.
v
If anything, this Zionist/CFR operations and war Ukraine has been planned and in the works for a very long time... Obama did get a deal with Russia on the multi billion HIND helicopter deal in Afghanistan for an abstention on U.N. res 1973 to attack Libya and overthrow Qaddafi. That was Putin and Larionov's major mistake, especially after the overthrow, discovery that Libya was covert operations be the CIA, Mi6, et al in; recruiting, training, and transport hub for rebel/terrorists in overthrowing governments, regions, and countries. One only has to look at who is behind the years of destabilizing, nations, regions around the world, and overthrowing governments with false flags, lies, trade wars, sanctions, propaganda, terrorism, and wars.

Here's the latest updates in Eastern Ukraine if anyone is interested:

Perhaps BO can recruit an expert of unquestionable character,Colin Powell, to present this latest photographic evidence of Russian aggression to the UN.

"admit"? I see no evidence that it is from a computer game. I'd be really happy to see that however, where is the evidence? I just heard a claim that it was so from an untrustworthy agent of a foreign government.

Maybe. But here we are--what, 36 hours from this sensational headline?--and it's obviously bullshit.

Wow what a joke. It looks like it was all a wash. Screw Drudge, I'm never going to that site again. Scaring people for clicks like that is unforgivable.
