Rand and the Catholic vote in 2016

If 2016 sees Rand just looking at his Senate re-election in Kentucky, then . . . well, nevermind.

But there are a billion Catholics worldwide and Pope Francis is stating . . .

Now, with Dr. Ron Paul being a physician Congressman who introduced Sanctity of Life legislation in the House,
I had no problem in seeing that RP could get the Catholic vote out, at the Iowa Straw poll in August 2011 and in August 2007 for example,
especially in the congressional districts of eastern Iowa that former GOP (and Episcopal) Congressman Jim Leach
had held for 30 years (1977 - 2007) with heavy Catholic demographics like Dubuque.

Leach had like RP been one of six GOP Congressmen to vote "No" to the Iraqi War Resolution Act of 2002 (November)
before the March 2003 run to Baghdad (Ollie North and CNN coverage with Wolf Blitzer was a dumb PR idea of the
military-industrial complex to win popular support stateside - a Dick Cheney strategy that Bush43 went along with unfortunately)

I can easily see Dr. Rand Paul getting that same base of support from Catholics in eastern Iowa,
as well as in California - and everywhere in between -
- Catholics who do not vote according to polls or the MSNBC or Faux News media spins, but according to their conscience -
One can at least see that same base of support based on Rand's well-played internet ad about defending the life of the as yet unborn.

Don't count too much on the Catholics votes for Rand. If there are really 60 millions of them out there in the U.S according to some stats and they really do vote on conscience, Romney would've been voted in already.

The Catholics in the U.S are even more aligned to the left with pope Francis. Recently, they announced war against libertarianism with the conference titled "Erroneous Autonomy: The Catholic Case Against Libertarianism" (http://iprcua.com/2014/06/04/erroneous-autonomy-conference-wrap-up/) Not that Rand is a libertarian, but he's seem as one in public.

The top aid to Pope Francis in the Americas, Cardinal Archbishop Rodríguez Maradiaga is a hardcore socialist and he has the ears of the Pope. I'm willing to bet they would give up their moral conscience to fight "capitalism" on command of the pope. And beside, as long as the there are no federal laws on abortion, why would they give Rand a chance?

The Pope... is in essence calling for a Crusade. Which at some point may be the best way to end ISIS, but they are not a big enough menace yet.
