Ummm...Can't believe I forgot this idea...

Plasmaferesis <I think it is spelled that way> - Plasma, the liquid part of our blood, is used for many purposes. Companies will usually pay about $60 a week for people to donate. You can usually donate twice in a 7 day period.

Great idea...but I soooo hate needles.

Other wise, I'd be all over this. Sorry. Needles are just of the devil.

And plasma donation needles are the worst.... :( They are huge!

I've given plasma once before...but never again. I just can't stomach it.
But, see, they pulled the needle out of my arm really carelessly, and it screwed my arm up pretty bad. I won't go into details, but it was nasty!

But please don't let me discourage anyone who is thinking about donating plasma! (I'm just warning those who "hate needles" so that they don't get sick, pass out, etc. ;))

Actually, the bigger needles are easier for most, because, there is more material and surface area for the makers to sharpen them. The sharper they are, the less pressure and more exact a cut they make. I am not big on needles either, but, they are not bad to me.

You can donate other things as well. Some places pay for blood. Nearly all pay for sperm. And if any of the women out there really want to go all out, egg harvesting usually nets 3k-8k/cycle.

Some places pay for hair too.

How about a "Ron Paul Blood Drive" that would get some publicity. Just organize a day and have a bunch of people give blood in the name of Ron Paul

We can even use the tools in this thread for a press release regarding the blood drive :D

And OP, I'm not trying to hijack your thread. Your excellent idea led to mine :p

Is there a web site where we can see places in our area to go sell our plasma??

You know...How about a sticky controlled thread that would list various ways you can make money to donate with links to various companies that support that type?

Unfortunately, my hair won't cut it. While I am perfectly capable of growing strong, long, full hair, I keep my head buzzed. Cheaper to cut it myself. :)

I provided two links above. They were the only quick ones I found via Google.

We tossed around the idea a while back, but it never got off the ground.

The Red Cross sets up blood drives for churches and various orgs all the time... and they are always well publicized by the local media.

wow what a great idea!

So many Americans are bleeding for the wrong reasons in Iraq. Now we can bleed to bring the troops home.

I see a good theme for a website. Ron Paul blood drive/donation drive. Bleed to stop bloodshed!

I was thinking about this today but assumed that people were already giving blood here and there. Since that doesn't seem to be the case, I'll bump the thread again.

Great idea.

So who is willing to spearhead this project?
Make a "Ron Paul Blood Drive for The Revolution" project.
This will get a lot of attention from the media.
