I just watched most of it, tear gas, rubber bullets and high decibel sound. Looked like a small crowd, but hard to tell. No clue if anyone was arrested as the reporter fled with the crowd.

Protesters were holding their hands up and chanting “we are peaceful” as the police line pushed forward dispersing the crowd.

An overwhelming group of SWAT forces in riot gear has descended on protesters who gathered once again in Ferguson, Missouri, on Wednesday. After nightfall, police deployed tear gas against the crowd, warning the protest was “no longer peaceful.”

“This is no longer a peaceful assembly. Go home or be subject to arrest,” police warned through the loudspeaker, shortly before shooting tear gas at the protesters. Prior to that officers were telling people to stay away from the vans.

Police were also shooting rubber bullets while smoke grenades and tear gas canisters were falling into the crowd and surrounding neighborhood. Meanwhile, some of the protesters reportedly threw rocks and bottles at the police.

“Your right to assembly is not being denied,” police were telling the protesters before the sudden showdown.

Additionally, the Guardian’s Jon Swaine said he watched officers handcuff two reporters at the gathering and place them in a police vehicle. When he tried to confirm the identities of those detained, police in riot gear marched towards him and threatened to cuff him as well. Those reporters turned out to be Reilly of the Huffington Post and Wesley Lowery of the Washington Post. Lowery tweeted that both of them were released with no charges, but added that he saw an African American man in a police truck screaming for a paramedic only to be ignored by police.

“I’m dying. I’m dying,” the man reportedly screamed. “Please call help.”

I thought it was interesting hearing the woman on the live stream just ask ( soon after the military assault on the citizens took place) where all of the politicians are who "want the black vote". She said they want their vote but "I don't see they ass down here". She then conceded to continue discussing other outlying factors with regard to the lack of representation in daily life such as over taxing and that kind of thing.

Anyone hear the Anonymous-released recordings of the police channel that night? Seems news of the shooting took the PD itself by surprise.

That is the most interesting piece of data to date. The cop did not report his own "officer-involved shooting incident" to the department.

I speculated (a bit wildly) yesterday that it could possibly be a cop-gang initiation rite just like other ruthless and violent criminal organizations have.

The governor of Missouri will reportedly relieve St. Louis County law enforcement from policing the ongoing demonstrations in the town of Ferguson, paving the way for possible state or federal intervention.

Rep Wm. Lacy Clay (D-Missouri told Bloomberg News on Thursday morning that Gov. Jay Nixon, also a Democrat, had confirmed to him that county police will be pulled from their duties in Ferguson, where outrage continues to erupt following the officer-involved shooting and killing of Michael Brown, an 18-year-old unarmed teenager, on Saturday.

According to Wallbank’s Twitter account, Gov. Nixon neglected to tell Rep. Clay if state police or the Federal Bureau of Investigation would take control of the situation.

ACTUALLY, only some of them were armed. with sidearms.. most of then were not..
however what you did not see were the well disciplined and well armed men with rifles surrounding that scene.

Few of them were ever seen,,
Police counted 200 scoped rifles (the ones they saw).

Maybe they are doing what they did at Bundy Ranch, they were super-aggressive in the beginning, running around beating and tasing people -- but then when they ran into the least little bit of opposition they started to back down.

I think as with what started all of this they expect everyone to just immediately lay down before them -- they are so used to that that they don't know what to do when they are stood up to.

Remember, I'm only hearing this secondhand. I'm only passing along what someone passed along to me, who said they heard it on FB. The latest I've been told is that militia members arrived there, were turned away by "the military" on the outskirts of town, and left without confrontation. I would assume that "the military" means homeland security. I wish I had reliable, verifiable info on what actually happened.
