NPR has really let me down lately with their debate wrap ups, but this was nice to hear this morning.

"Ron Paul starting to slowly pick up support, he might actually come in third here". That would make for a pretty good youtube clip.

Well, it's an improvement.

I want to take second in Iowa. Tough against Romney with his money and organiztion in the state and against the FairTax.org folk who are using Huckabee to promote their flat-tax agenda.

If he came in third, I hope he doesn't Dean scream, we should do that for him.

I've got to quibble... FairTax.org doesn't support a flat tax. It's a sales tax.

Polls mean nothing. We'll see who actually shows up at the caucuses.

I hate to be pessimistic, but I would still see 5th place and above as a success, since we would've beaten a "frontrunner." I'm glad that we're being considered a possible 3rd - that would be absolutely amazing, and would guarantee some more airtime, better (more respectful) interviews, and maybe an end to the freaking "will you run independent?" question. :)

Yes, but we're capable of taking so much more than that if we push hard. :)

Third in Iowa would be pretty good for a candidate who wants to end farm subsidies and doesn't give lip service to their most popular deity. After that and a victory in NH, he'd be well on his way.

So true. I'm glad that there seems to be a surge in the amount of attention being paid to Iowa (instead of just NH).

I think that if Giuliani, Thompson, and McCain campaign heavily the last couple of weeks, they could easily take some votes from Mitt Huckabee. Obviously, that helps one guy. ;)

We need Steven Segal to neutralize the Norris endorsement

do you gain points or something from placing in 2nd or 3rd that can help you down the road?

sorry--but Eastwood would be so awesome--we're sure he's not a progressive or an anti-semite or something. God--I could NEVER imagine a better celebrity endorsement. That would be so cool--like 10 times cooler than Norris.

Maybe we could do a huge letter writing campaign to him--like now. And we could ask the official campaign to give him a couple calls.

Don't think he's any of those. He made freakin Flag of our Fathers and Letters from Iwo Jima - those were pretty good movies. I think he understands that everyone is human, the Japanese were fighting for their country and America theirs. Maybe he understands this is why terrorism occurs? dono.
