Just this weekend, a low information GOP voter inquired as to why the Tea Party is trying to sabotage the GOP. Obviously, this question did not arise by itself in the mind of this passionate, but not well informed "conservative".

Sure enough, it appears that this is the latest talking point from the RINO, establishment, Republicrat media spin machine. And no one represents the corrupt, crony corporatist, Democrat-Republican establishment more than Steve LaTourette.

Who You Callin’ a Grifter?

Methinks Steve LaTourette doth project too much.

I believe this is what people in the psych biz call “projection.” Former congressman, and current transportation lobbyist, Steve LaTourette recently penned a column accusing the Tea Party—of which I am a proud member—of “lining its pockets while Republicans are actually trying to get things done.” LaTourette is an established authority on the topic of lining pockets in Washington, given that he has increased his personal wealth by 11,000 percent since 2004.
...
LaTourette’s latest song and dance is a textbook lesson in the efforts of the emerging “GOP strategist” class, a revolving door of lobbyists advancing the interests of corporate clients under the guise of acting in the best interests of the Republican Party.

But LaTourette does have a horse in the race, and it’s not the GOP. It can be found in the company he keeps. The top three contributors of his PAC, Defending Main Street, are the Laborers Union, the Operating Engineers Union and Working for Working Americans, a building trade union.
...
LaTourette’s record in Congress tells a clear tale of support for big government policies, labor unions and the sort of cronyism that has earned Republicans such a bad name. During his time in Congress, LaTourette never saw a spending bill he didn’t like. He voted against cutting funding for Obamacare, supported the bailouts of General Motors and Chrysler and signed off on hundreds of billions of dollars in stimulus spending.

From 2003 to 2004, he sponsored bills that would have increased spending by $551.6 billion. In fact, a Project Vote Smart summary reveals not a single area of government in which LaTourette would like to cut spending.
...
Dare to empower citizens who want to take their representation back from inside-the-Beltway apparatchiks, and the revolving door of politicians, lobbyists and “GOP strategists” will come after you with the fire of a thousand suns.

They love their ironic names. They call their big government, leftist, crony corporatist organization "Main Street".

‘Main Street’ GOP Groups and Their Leftist Funders

What do George Soros, labor unions, and money-grubbing former GOP representative Steven LaTourette all have in common? They’re control freaks. They’re power hounds. They’re united against tea-party conservatives. And they have all operated under the umbrella of D.C. groups masquerading as “Main Street” Republicans.

LaTourette heads up the so-called Main Street Partnership, which claims to represent “thoughtful,” “pragmatic,” “commonsense,” and “centrist” Republican leadership. Reality check: The pro-bailout, pro-debt, pro-amnesty, anti-drilling group founded by former liberal GOP representative Amory Houghton of New York includes three liberal Senate Republicans (John McCain, Mark Kirk, and Susan Collins) and 52 center-left House Republicans. LaTourette himself is a self-serving Beltway barnacle who held office for nearly two decades. Now he’s using his new tea-party-bashing platform to benefit a family-operated lobbying business.
