I haven't read it yet (I will) but the problem is that the Tea Party can't figure out what it wants. It wants small government on the one hand, and foreign, social, security, and even economic policies that are incompatible with small government on the other hand.

"taxed enough already" is a nice line, and very true, but you need more than that for a coherent philosophy.

Don't forget, "No socialized medicine! But keep your hands off my Medicare."

As a now departed old buddy of mine used to say, "It all depends on whose ox is getting gored."

The Tea Party is a large, ideologically diverse group and was actually started during a Ron Paul fundraiser in 2007. A lot of the new Tea Party has been co-opted.

Decent write-up but pretty much common knowledge. Some of our 'own' are simply profiteers too. See: Saber Communications

For those of you munchkins who have no idea ... the tea party movement was created in 2007, in support of Ron Paul .. We brought in millions in one day, supporting Paul's message of liberty .. Since we did so well, the tea party movement was hijacked by a bunch of neo cons .. thinking they could do the same thing ... They have failed miserably, as bad people often do. Their message was not the true message, but rather a way to make a couple hundred thousand on their own ... Much like the feds, the hijacked tea party is corrupt.

I often wondered why our support of Ron Paul and the tea party in 2007, didn't copywrite it ... however Ron Paul said the tea party is a thought; and not a person or persons and no one owns it .. Ron Paul was wrong , as now I have to live in constant embarrassment for the many tea party owners such as Sarah Palin, who wish to capitalize on it.

Here is the innocent, 2007 Tea Party willing to go to the mat for Ron Paul and end the Fed. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c0h69EazA0M Search youtube for 2007 Ron Paul tea party .. You will see Texas, New York, California ...

The tea party movement was stolen from us, because Paul was too timid to claim it for ourselves ... That was his wish, so as I disagree with his decision; we allow Sarah Palin and other nonsense such as she, to hijack the movement .. But ... I was so proud of our one night of success.

I think it was the Seattle Times with this political cartoon . . . the characters have changed.

I just hope Newt the Nut has finally been disposed of . . . doubt that Parah Sailin' is still at the throne of the revolution . . .
