Had a meetup group tonight and one of the guys there said a good idea.

Whenever you get one of those pre-paid envelopes from company's throw a slim jim in it and mail it back with your check.

Doesn't have to be with a check. Couldn't we do the same with all the junk we get? I think I get about 5-10 pieces of junk mail with prepaid postage a day.

Yeah, but then postage gets pretty expensive....

But still a good idea.

I don't understand the slim jims. Is like text printed onto the stick of the slimjim itself? Or the wrapper?

Why slimjims? I don't see giving them to vegetarians.

Being familiar with some companies that process this kind of work, everything in the envelope gets inventoried. It might get looked at by 2-4 people.

Here's the problem with that.

That mail all goes to some bulk sorting center the effectiveness would probably be nill.

I don't even imagine many of the people sorting would read English as their first language.

Far be it from me to stop anyone, ya'll do whatever you will I'm just not convinced it'll be effective.

MORE effective to my way of thinking is to have some of the TIP slimjims handy.

Friday night when I ordered my pizza and had it delivered I gave my drive 3 things.

The coupon for $2 off.
The money.
And lastly said, "Here's some information you might be interested in on how you can keep 100% of the tips you earn" as I handed a TIP slim jim.

The woman was actually on her cell phone so she didn't engage me in a conversation but her eyes LIT UP and I observed her looking closely at the slimjim as she walked back to her delivery vehicle.

Can you DIG IT?!

SNAP INTO A SLIM JIM!

Good grief you've got nearly 200 posts and you don't know what a Ron Paul slim jim is yet?

Look at the ones that are Slim Jims and it'll all become clear.

Business Reply Mail here in Nevada costs 96 cents to the people who sent it if it gets used to reply to you. That really adds up.

If you're actually replying to their mailing in a positive way, it seems like a good idea. But if you're just sending back the slim jim, you are making a major mistake and probably alienating a potential supporter. I know you weren't advocating this, but look down the thread and people are misreading your idea. A.K.
