Flight of the Valkyries. Video with a Blimp.

The ending of this one isn't so good, but I'm sure we can make a better version.

the one schmeisser posted, or "i believe i can fly" :D

actually "where the stars and stripes and the eagle fly" would be the best

Greatest American Hero theme would be hilarious and true lyrically.

I'd vote for that barring something else really compelling being suggested.

Maybe the Superman score?

The really loud fast paced part not the slow intro.

Here are the full lyrics:

Look at what's happened to me,
I can't believe it myself.
Suddenly I'm up on top of the world,
It should've been somebody else.

Believe it or not,
I'm walking on air.
I never thought I could feel so free-.
Flying away on a wing and a prayer.
Who could it be?
Believe it or not it's just me.

It's like a light of a new day-,
It came from out of the blue.
Breaking me out of the spell I was in,
Making all of my wishes come true-.

Believe it or not,
I'm walking on air.
I never thought I could feel so free-.
Flying away on a wing and a prayer.
Who could it be?
Believe it or not it's just me.

"Flight of the Valkyries" was used to highly negative effect in, what, "Apocalypse Now," wasn't it?

Ya know....I confess to having a 'thing' for the word ;)

But I'll say this...it's art work dependent.

IF the R3VOLution logo isn't used on the blimp, which is no longer seem it will...then I'd reserve the anthem for something yet to come.

Oh, but it is being used. This is what the starboard side of the blimp will look like:

Eh I stand corrected.

It seems on side WILL feature the r3VOLution logo.

The other will be the WHo Is Ron Paul: Google Ron Paul message.

My bad.

(Tell me if this is a dumb question.)

What does it mean to choose a "theme song" for the blimp? In what way will this song be used? And, based on my guess of what the answer will be, I'd like to preemptively remind you of the ugly beast called Copyright. :)

The campaign needs a triumphant attitude if they expect people to look at them as contenders not spoilers. The flight of the Valkeries has that.

Every major media outlet in the world will be there to cover the event.

How about we remake the Beatle's Sgt. Pepper's "A Day In The Life"

I surfed the web today oh boy
About a government that lost its way
And though the news was rather sad
Well I just had to laugh
I saw a photograph.

There was a blimp that read “Ron Paul”
I didn't notice that my mind had changed
A crowd of people stood and cheered
They'd seen his face before
Nobody was really prepped
That he was from the House of Reps.

I saw a blimp today oh boy
The Freedom Movement had just stopped the war
A band of bankers turned away
but I just had to look
Having stopped the crooks.
I'd love to turn you on

Woke up, jumped out of bed,
Heard the blimp above my head
Found my way downstairs and drank a cup,
And looking up I noticed I was late.
Raised my hope and grabbed my hat
Made the polls in seconds flat
Got my way inside and cast my vote,
Ron Paul spoke and I went into a dream

I saw the blimp again oh boy
Four thousand feet above America
And though my vote felt rather small
They had to count them all
Now we know how many votes it takes to save America.
I'd love to turn you on

Ok. This is kinda silly. But what the heck. :p
Vive La Paul.

Did you just whip that up on the spot? A hundred times Bravo!

BTW-I don't know if Valkyries is the right tune for that setting, but it's an easy pick compared to those other two choices. Might be time for new suggestions...

All in all, though, I'm not sure this is important enough to vote on. I'll be ok with whatever's played. But if you guys think it is, then go ahead.

I believe it would be protected as fair use under the parody rulings that have come down in several cases setting a clear precedent of protecting parody.

That's a pretty good one. I like the "Greatest American Hero" a lot too. Both would be perfectly fine to me. But really folks, this is a no-brainer. It has to be "Let the Eagle Soar" by John Ashcroft.: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-5064050894251576260&q=%22Let+the+Eagle+Soar%22&total=12&start=0&num=10&so=0&type=search&plindex=0

Here are the lyrics:

Call out the instigators
Because there's something in the air
We've got to get together sooner or later
Because the revolution's here, and you know it's right
And you know that it's right

We have got to get it together
We have got to get it together now

Lock up the streets and houses
Because there's something in the air
We've got to get together sooner or later
Because the revolution's here, and you know it's right
And you know that it's right

We have got to get it together
We have got to get it together now

Hand out the arms and ammo
We're going to blast our way through here
We've got to get together sooner or later
Because the revolution's here, and you know it's right
And you know that it's right

We have got to get it together
We have got to get it together

For those of us who remember the original lyrics to this song, I'd recommend against it.
The first 3 or 4 episodes of the series ran with the lines:
"Believe it or not, I'm walking on air, I never thought I could feel so *****."
which resulted in widespread school house humor, radio DJ jokes and so forth.
After realizing that the meaning of ***** had changed since the days of Leave It To Beaver, the network reworked the theme song, but still whenever I hear it I remember the original lyrics instead.

In the poll I voted Other. Can't think of one at the moment.

Doesn't have to be strictly flying related. It could also be something that we would identify with as well as the general public. Something that doesn't already have an established connotation.

I say let the DJ who's there that day decide. :) Saves us the time of having this discussion, and there will plenty of time for more than one song anyway.
