Debate on expression by journalists of their emotions when threatened by a group aside, do you agree or disagree with Diana Magnay's characterization of the group she referred to in below report?

CNN reporter calls cheering Israelis S-word

(http://www.wnd.com/2014/07/cnn-reporter-calls-cheering-israelis-s-word/)'It is an astonishing, macabre and awful thing to watch' (http://www.wnd.com/2014/07/cnn-reporter-calls-cheering-israelis-s-word/)

CNN has removed correspondent Diana Magnay from covering the Israeli-Palestinian conflict after she referred to a group of Israelis cheering missile strikes in Gaza as “scum.”
Magnay appeared on CNN Thursday from a hill overlooking the Israel-Gaza border. During her on-air report, Magnay pointed out the trail of rockets that could be seen leaving Israeli positions to take out Hamas.
“It is an astonishing, macabre and awful thing to watch this display of fire in the air,” she told CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer, who is in Jerusalem.
“I think you can probably see there are lots of Israelis gathered around who are cheering when they see these kinds of Israeli strikes,” she noted.
Magnay took to Twitter to express her outrage after the Israelis “threatened to destroy” her crew’s car if the British reporter said something “wrong.” Moments later, she deleted the tweet.

“After being threatened and harassed before and during a live shot, Diana reacted angrily on Twitter,” a CNN spokeswoman said in a statement.
“She deeply regrets the language used, which was aimed directly at those who had been targeting our crew,” the spokeswoman continued. “She certainly meant no offense to anyone beyond that group, and she and CNN apologize for any offense that may have been taken.”
The spokeswoman said Magnay has been assigned to Moscow.

Other than the title of this thread, I can only offer one hint that S-word here does not refer to SWC.

When a people believe the enemies at the gates, they will cheer for almost anything done against the enemy. Not saying I agree with it but I can understand it.

Ok.
BTW, can you also understand the above cited journo calling the referred group as Scum?

I didn't catch her saying that but I did watch some of that segment live and she's right. The people, regardless of who they were, were treating it like a sporting event. They had lawn chairs, beer, smokes and were laughing and cheering and high fiveing each other every time a missile or bomb would hit a structure in the distance. It was a disgusting display.

Far more Israeli’s and supporters of Israel than CNN will ever report, consider the rightless in their land natives of Palestine, the Palestinians, to be scum.

They are apparently identified as Israeli "right-wingers" by Israeli media:

9:34 P.M. Hundreds of Jews and Arabs are demonstrating in Haifa against the Gaza operation, hoisting banners and Palestinian flags. Hundreds of right-wingers have staged a counter-protest, and are hoisting Israeli flags and chanting "death to Arabs" and "death to leftists."

Bold mine. She used the S-word in her tweet, not in video; I should have worded above comment in better detail.

Also, while it seems to be same group, she used the term "Scum" directly for the terrorists who threatened to "destroy her car if she said a wrong word". The OP news headline I posted seems to be missing that nuance.

Israeli has become just as bad as Nazi Germany

A lot of people forgot this happened 8-9ish years ago
Israelis being taken out of their homes, put on buses, and relocated.

Israel Begins Forced Removal of Jewish Settlers From Gaza as Deadline Expires

Israeli troops began the forced evacuation of thousands of Jewish settlers from the Gaza strip Wednesday after a deadline for them to leave expired last night. We go to Gaza to speak with Chris McGreal, correspondent with the London Guardian, who reports from the settlement of Neve Dekalim. [includes rush transcript]

Israeli troops began the forced evacuation of thousands of Jewish settlers from the Gaza strip Wednesday after a deadline for them to leave expired last night.

Unarmed Israeli soldiers broke though burning barricades and marched door to door ordering people out of their homes in five settlements. The operation is the culmination of Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s disengagement plan from the Gaza strip which has been occupied by Israel for nearly four decades.

Troops and police grabbed settlers and pushed them into buses. Scuffles broke out with a large crowd, as protesters burned garbage, fought with police officers and threw eggs and water bottles at them. One woman set herself on fire during an anti-pullout protest in the Negev town of Netivot. She was seriously wounded. Settlers in some farming communities were seen burning their greenhouses and homes rather than leave them to the Palestinians. One man took a sledgehammer to the walls of his home. Police said Wednesday morning that in the last 24 hours they had arrested 498 people, of whom 451 were released.

Police said one woman was arrested for stabbing and lightly wounding a soldier. Soon after the incident, Sharon beseeched settlers not to attack soldiers saying "Don’t blame them. Don’t make it hard on them. Don’t hurt them, hurt me."

Further confrontation looms as hundreds of Israeli troops escorted by bulldozers marched into the Neve Dekalim settlement, a focus of resistance where thousands have defied orders to leave. IDF officials are reportedly hammering out a deal with settlement leaders, whereby the settlers would leave by this afternoon.

Government eviction notices went into effect on Monday but settlers were given 48 hours to leave or be removed from all 21 settlements in Gaza and four of 120 in the West Bank. Many of Gaza’s 8,500 settlers packed up trucks ahead of the Wednesday deadline to quit Gaza. But the army estimated about half the settler population would remain in defiance.

Officials say 66 percent of settler families have accepted compensation deals. Those who refused to go could lose a third of the money, ranging from $150,000 to $400,000 dollars per family.

According to the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, a senior aide to Sharon said that all or nearly all of the 21 Gaza Strip settlements could be evacuated within 48 hours, declaring that the opposition to the disengagement has failed. The army intends to pull out the last troops from Gaza in early October and turn over the land to the Palestinian Authority.

It was in a later tweet and it was because she said they threatened her before she did her report that she shouldn't say anything "wrong".

by taking israelis out of gaza instead of removing palestinians, they essentially created a palestinian ghetto without moving them anywhere

It was more like they were spectators for a fireworks display. Disgusting. It also gives me flashbacks to the Israeli's dancing on the roof of a building on 9/11.

NBC News Pulls Veteran Reporter from Gaza After Witnessing Israeli Attack on Children
By Glenn Greenwald 17 Jul 2014, 12:43 PM EDT

Ayman Mohyeldin, the NBC News correspondent who personally witnessed yesterday’s killing by Israel of four Palestinian boys on a Gazan beach and who has received widespread praise for his brave and innovative coverage of the conflict, has been told by NBC executives to leave Gaza immediately. According to an NBC source upset at his treatment, the executives claimed the decision was motivated by “security concerns” as Israel prepares a ground invasion, a claim repeated to me by an NBC executive. But late yesterday, NBC sent another correspondent, Richard Engel, along with an American producer who has never been to Gaza and speaks no Arabic, into Gaza to cover the ongoing Israeli assault (both Mohyeldin and Engel speak Arabic).

To be devil's advo, it was necessity for them to create a cntrolled group like "Islamist" Hamas with built-in spies to divide Palstinians along religious lines, to weaken secular Christian led groups like PLO, PLFP and to repaint the occupation battles as a "clash of civilization" among the simple minded folks within the 'West".

Secular and some Christian Palestinian militants like George Habash were far more "extremist" in their tactics against USTF Israeli occupation.
