At first glance, he's right though. Civility is a two way street. If someone attempts to deprive you of your private property under the threat of violence, you are in the right to shoot them. Personal defense isn't only relegated to spontaneous burglary acts. Obviously, I don't have all the details about the particular violations but I'm skeptical considering the source.

Fernandez has been locked in a dispute with environmental regulators over violations of wetlands preservation codes. The Department of Environmental Resources Management maintains that Fernandez’ plant nursery — located in a rural area south of Miami called Los Palmas — has racked up more than $300,000 in fines for environmental violations.

The government seized the nursery when Fernandez refused to pay the fines. Now, his home is set to be sold at a foreclosure auction later this month.

Wearing a T-shirt emblazoned with the slogan “No to United Nations Agenda 21,” Fernandez railed at the 12 assembled council members as well as Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Gimenez.

“You confiscated my land already,” he said. If the government proceeds with its plan to sell his house, Fernandez said, “the ‘bleep’ is going to hit the fan.’

“I dare you to sell my house,” Fernandez told the commissioners. “You have become tyrants. You have become a corrupted government. You have destroyed my family. And hundreds of families.”

He went on, “And I said, ‘Enough. I am the people.’ And the time that you sell the house, my Constitution gives me the right to shoot every one of you. Shoot ’em!”

He sounds like he doesn't care if he gets caught - it's an "if I'm going down I'm taking you with me" ultimatum. After his life's work has been destroyed and stolen by the government, does he have any higher purpose than revenge left to him?

Too bad I'm not in Miami and can't vote to acquit him of whatever he has planned.

He needed to be joined by at least 10 other farmers that this has happened to and they all needed to be armed. They needed to recite the home addresses in public of every board member and assure them that for each of the 10 bringing forth their grievances there were another 10 ready to act on their words of warning should something happen to them.
