On Tuesday’s broadcast of Armed Forces Radio Talk’s “Sandy Rios in the Morning,” Breitbart News’ Matthew Boyle said that evidence of “8,300 vote irregularities” has been discovered by Chris McDaniel’s campaign in its challenge to Sen. Thad Cochran’s (R-MS) primary victory over McDaniel.

McDaniel is supposed to make a statement today, but there's been no announcement as to what time he will do so.

Mississippi Supreme Court seeks more info from McDaniel
July 16, 2014

...Three justices Tuesday asked McDaniel to tell them what laws address the disclosure of voters’ personal information. They’re also asking Attorney General Jim Hood and Harrison County Circuit Clerk Gayle Parker to respond to McDaniel’s request for voting records that include birthdates.

McDaniel on Tuesday also sued Rankin County Circuit Clerk Rebecca Boyd for access to voter rolls.

A Jackson County circuit judge ordered Circuit Clerk Joe Martin to give McDaniel access to voter rolls there.

Texas-based U.S. District Judge Nancy Atlas was assigned to hear a federal lawsuit involving access to Mississippi voting records.

Edit:
Weird... So I had left a window open with the livestream - which was indeed live, but it just showed a shot of an office which I assumed to be the Clarion Ledger. At one point you could hear a woman offscreen saying someone (didn't catch the name) had asked her, "When is this McDaniel guy going to stop?!", followed by laughter and a reply, "Do you think this election will be over by August?" Then, you hear a guy say to them both, "Sorry Guys - this thing is live'" and he apparently pulled the plug. Clarion Ledger really doesn't hide it's prejudice against McDaniel very well!

I can't predict the future, but he has a case. Even if it does not go to court, this is really angering and emboldening the base. Eric Cantor managed to lose by seriously pissing off the politically active folks in his district at the Convention. Mississippi is swinging our way. Man I hope it goes to court though.

I've been following the aftermath of this run off election as closely as I could (it's been quite difficult to really find much information on it), and it has been hard watch. The sheer boldness of Cochran's campaign and the MS establishment in how they have handled themselves is maddening. They weren't even shy about it; they openly committed some fraudulent business. It's quite telling how the media largely ignored it, and even seems, right now at least, to have gotten away with not reporting on something so in-your-face wrong. If they can manage to hide something so obvious from Boobus, then how the F is Rand, no matter how masterful his maneuvering has been, going to win this thing. I know they're "just playing politics" but I had hoped that he, along with some of the other libertarian and conservative members of both houses, would have called foul and pressed this issue to help with overturning the results. Ted f**kin Cruz of all people is the only one I've heard say anything about it.

Sigh...disappointing times. Well, I am glad that Mcdaniel is still pursuing this as vigorously as he can manage to do so, as I'm sure he's probably quite pressed for funds at the moment, being that he doesn't have, and hasn't had, much backing from those he continued to acknowledge and applaud during the race he probably would have won (even with the shit Cochran's folks pulled) had he gotten more help from them while campaigning. I guess the folks on this board were putting it extremely mildly when they said that Mississippi politics was a dirty ass game.

Well, I really hope this goes somewhere. Cheers to the senatorial candidate who uttered one of the more radical quotes I've heard from a politician in recent times:
"We'll fight them in academia. We'll fight them in the universities. We'll fight them in the marbled halls of Congress. We'll fight them in them in the state capitols. We'll fight them in the hills if we have to, but we are not going to surrender our country." - Chris McDaniel

At about the 22:00 mark, they talk about fraud they have now found in the original Primary. It's possible that it never had to go to a run-off.

And they mention a couple who voted for McDaniel in the Primary, but found that their Precinct reported 0 votes for McDaniel. A good reminder that people should check their votes when the results come in.

Who cares, really? Is Cochran going to concede his seat? No. Will this propel McDaniel into the U.S. Senate? Probably not. Will the media as a whole, left or right, even care about this. Not a chance. Not unless there's good enough reason and people don't just assume that McDaniel is being a sore loser who thinks Black votes are 'illegitimate,' as some have written.

If he wins the case, something will majorly change. Either McDaniel wins outright, or there is a rematch. And or Cochran steps down in disgrace, or the GOP loses their place on the ballot or something. I don't know enough about Mississippi law.Can anyone help us out here?

Many said the same thing about his senate run before he won in Randslide.

Remember "they" is NOT half a dozen guys sitting in a dark room running the world. There are many power groups and individuals with many different agendas. What we call the establishment is actually diverse in their own microcosms. Rand will never win over the Neocons (think Karl Rove and his cronies), but he has the ear of some pretty powerful folks: Rupert Murdoch (news media) met him at the Kentucky derby. He met with Eric Holder (Justice Department), Mark Zuckerberg (tech), and Sheldon Adelson (Israel firsters). He owns the Kentucky GOP.
Each group wants something different and could benefit from a Paul presidency.

McDaniels problem is that he has got NOBODY in his corner.

Chris McDaniel Attorney: Mississippi Election Challenge Coming
Attorneys for state Sen. Chris McDaniel said Wednesday they have sufficient evidence to challenge the results of Mississippi’s Republican Senate runoff — which McDaniel lost to Sen. Thad Cochran last month — and expect to do so in the next 10 days.

The Mississippi Supreme Court ruled Thursday that circuit clerks must redact voters' birthdates before poll books are open for public inspection.

The ruling is a blow to state Sen. Chris McDaniel's effort to examine election materials as he seeks evidence of improper voting to challenge his loss to six-term U.S. Sen. Thad Cochran in the June 24 Republican primary runoff.

McDaniel's attorneys said they need to see dates of birth and other identifying information so they can tell the difference between voters with similar names.

Certified results show Cochran won by 7,667 votes, but McDaniel has not conceded more than three weeks after the election.

Huh. McDaniel introduced legislation curbing the NSA's ability to gather as much information as possible on citizens- information that he now needs.

McDaniel camp says RNC rule disqualifies Cochran

...A release from McDaniel's legal team suggests that a portion of that announcement may pertain to a Republican National Committee rule they discovered.

McDaniel's campaign claims that rule would prevent the Republican National Committee from recognizing Sen. Thad Cochran as a nominee, because he reached out to voters who are typically Democrats to vote in the Senate Republican primary runoff.

However, after a plain language read of the rule sent to WLOX by the McDaniel camp, it appears the rule would only disqualify a candidate if the state or state party has a law that allows people to vote in both the Republican and Democratic primary in the same election.

Here is a copy of the rule sent to WLOX News by the McDaniel camp:

Rule 11(b) states:

"No state Republican Party rule or state law shall be observed that allows persons who have participated or are participating in the selection of any nominee of a party other than the Republican Party, including, but not limited to, through the use of a multiparty primary or similar type ballot, to participate in the selection of a nominee of the Republican Party for that general election. No person nominated in violation of this rule shall be recognized by the Republican National Committee as the nominee of the Republican Party from that state."

That's not the case in Mississippi, where once you've voted in one party's primary election, you are ineligible to vote in any other party's primary or subsequent run off races in that same election….
