“Det. Sgt. Patrick Ryder, head of the Nassau [County, New York State] police asset forfeiture and intelligence section, which ended 2013 with $28 million in forfeiture funds, the highest of any agency outside New York City” dismisses his department’s legalized theft by sneering, “”These are ill-gotten gains … The objective of what we do is to remove the profit from the crime. I’m your modern-day Robin Hood. I steal from the rich, the drug dealers, to give to the poor, the police,’ Ryder said.”

Hmmm. I don’t know about you, but where I come from, $28 million not only qualifies one as rich but super-rich. Maybe Ryder’s suffering a bout of Hillary Syndrome.

Meanwhile, our ”modern-day Robin Hood’s” victims disagree with his blithe assessment. “‘The police found some marijuana in the house, and so they took all the money — more than $1,000 — that was in the next room,’ said a Roosevelt [a poor town in Nassau County] woman who spoke on condition of anonymity because she feared retaliation for speaking out. ‘That right there was my life savings.” The weed belonged to her boyfriend, not her — but the porcine Robbing Hood ignores such fine distinctions. ”‘It was my money that I saved up, but the police said it was his money, so that was that,’ the woman said.”

Yet again, Leviathan steals from the poorest of the poor to give to the one percent. Is anyone surprised?

Robin Hood, Robin Hood
Riding through the glen.
Robin Hood, Robin Hood
With his band of men.
Feared by the bad, loved by the good.
Robin Hood, Robin Hood, Robin Hood.

He called the greatest archers to a tavern on the green.
They vowed to help the people of the king.
They handled all the trouble on the English country scene,
And still found plenty of time to sing.

Robin Hood, Robin Hood
Riding through the glen.
Robin Hood, Robin Hood
With his band of men.
Feared by the bad, loved by the good.
Robin Hood, Robin Hood, Robin Hood.

This is a major reason that the "war on drugs" won't stop.

The Sheriff.

And Prince John the temp stand-in while King Richard fought in the Crusades and was kidnapped and held for ransom. (Sorry signs of a misspent childhood TV addict.)
