Your clothes hurt my feelings. :(

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) --
The San Francisco Giants are making changes to its "dress code."

Giants fans can sport their orange and black, but attire that could be "culturally offensive" may be banned from the ballpark.

Native American Heritage Night at AT&T Park was supposed to be a celebration of the Native American culture. But video taken of a white man wearing a headdress offended Native American fans.
...
After meeting with fans, Giants officials changed the team's code of conduct for the fans.

"If they wear culturally insensitive attire they could be subject to removal from the ballpark. So we've added a line about wearing culturaly insensitive attire to our game," Daum added.
...
"It's a good idea if it's offending somebody, it's the right thing to do. If it's actually going to hurt somebody's feelings, it's the right way to go," Giants fan Nestor Gutierrez said.

Leave it to the politically correct to invent the 'Come As You Are Masquerade Ball'.

If progressives can take the fun out of a costume party they can ruin anything.

Its amazing how a bully nation can be full so many butthurt people.

There has never been a bully who wasn't chronically butthurt, pretending to be butthurt, or claiming to be defending the butthurt.

PC Police: Baseball Team Considers Dress Code For Fans

The San Francisco Giants are contemplating a dress code to keep out certain attire deemed “offensive.”

According to USA Today, a group of Giants fans were passing around a fake headdress during Native American Heritage Night on June 27, when two American Indians approached them and told them the headdress was disrespectful.

One of the American Indians asked for the headdress and then refused to give it back. The two American Indians were detained by security, but not arrested.

The pouty American Indians fans met with Giants representatives after the incident. The representatives apologized and discussed how they could move forward.

Giants spokeswoman Staci Slaughter told the San Francisco Chronicle that the proposal would eject fans from AT&T Park who wear “culturally insensitive attire, using obscene or abusive language, engaging in antisocial conduct offensive to those around them or displaying any other offensive behavior.”

Should the proposal be implemented, it would be a first for a sports franchise to enforce political correctness.

I've never seen so many uptight assholes all in one place, every single one of them with an "issue".

This will NOT end well.

The term "Giants" might be offensive to the height challenged. Perhaps they should change their name to the San Francisco "Averages."

That's the point of all this: to shut you up.

In his Appendix, Orwell explains the syntactical arrangement and the etymology of the Newspeak. A living language, such as English, one that has the capability of diverse expression, has the tendency to gain words and therefore broaden the awareness and knowledge of its speakers. Newspeak, on the other hand, loses words, by removing words that represent opposing concepts. Therefore, for example, because the word "good" presumes the opposite of "bad," the word "bad" is unnecessary. Similarly, all degrees of "goodness" can be expressed simply by adding standard prefixes and suffixes to this one root word: ungood (bad) and plusgood (very good) and doubleplusgood (wonderful). In so doing, Newspeak not only eliminates "unnecessary" words, but it also promotes a narrowing of thought and, therefore, awareness. The idea behind Newspeak is that, as language must become less expressive, the mind is more easily controlled. Through his creation and explanation of Newspeak, Orwell warns the reader that a government that creates the language and mandates how it is used can control the minds of its citizens.

But, but, but, these baseball teams are the private sector. They can do what they want!

(Never mind the amount billed to taxpayers for their ballparks.)

The Giants ownership group actually built the stadium with their own money.

The opposing teams fans reported that people wearing Giants shirts were offensive and 20,000 were removed from the ball park. The liberals put their face in their hands and cried because of the oppression they had put forth on the opposing teams fans.

To really drive this home I tried to find pics of an American of Scandinavian heritage weeping or moaning about being "culturally offended" -no luck.

Uff-da.

Well, I have to say that's a big exception. I also believe they had the land donated to them by the city.

Taxes are payment? Interesting idea, comrade.

And any government is an illegitimate owner of anything, therefore it should be stripped of all land titles and land ownership.

"They were hurt by the way in which one of the artifacts and one of their sacred items of clothing was being worn by another fan"

So does this mean they'll start throwing out all the people who wear crosses as a fashion statement because crosses are sacred to most of Christianity? What about these hipsters I've seen wearing prayer beads as jewelry? If you're going to ban something because it offends someone, well you'll have to ban everything if you want to apply the rules equally to everyone.

It offends me whenever people wear Irish apparel on St. Patrick's Day. I want to murder everyone I see with a "Pinch Me, I'm Irish" shirt on.

Seriously, butthurt generation has never been so butthurt before.

What's interesting is that ballpark owners have now made the leap from not only getting taxpayers to foot the bill, but to getting the dumb public from even noticing.

I know it's the 21st century, but I'm actually surprised that someone said this, not even comprehending the wussery of it all. Hurt somebody's feelings? God forbid. Let's ban everything that could possibly hurt someone's feelings. The cognitive dissonance that must go into maintaining that mindset is staggering.

It's really just a side-effect of a government-run society. The government isn't personally responsible for every stupid thing that happens, but they are responsible for creating the mindset that society holds which leads to these things happening.
