Title from a tweet on it: "The head of Blackwater in Iraq threatened to kill @StateDept (https://twitter.com/StateDept) workers who were investigating the company's activities"

"WASHINGTON — Just weeks before Blackwater (http://topics.nytimes.com/top/news/business/companies/blackwater_usa/index.html?inline=nyt-org) guards fatally shot 17 (http://www.nytimes.com/2007/10/03/world/middleeast/03firefight.html?pagewanted=all&module=Search&mabReward=relbias%3Ar%2C[%22RI%3A5%22%2C%22RI%3A12%22]) civilians at Baghdad’s Nisour Square in 2007, the State Department began investigating the security contractor’s operations in Iraq (http://topics.nytimes.com/top/news/international/countriesandterritories/iraq/index.html?inline=nyt-geo). But the inquiry was abandoned after Blackwater’s top manager there issued a threat: “that he could kill” the government’s chief investigator and “no one could or would do anything about it as we were in Iraq,” according to department reports."
