Ron Paul makes a campaign visit to Riley's, a gun store in Hooksett, New Hampshire. I ask him (basically): "Would you have run for president if the Free Staters hadn't put together such a big welcome for you during your exploratory visit in February?"

that wouldn't surprise me one bit.

tucker allegedly asked him if he ever tried drugs before and allegedly he was taken aback by the question - he believes that people should have the freedom to own guns or try certain substances, it doesn't mean he does it.

Sounds like he says that he has never owned a gun.

I dont know this, but lets say he does not own a gun......still he understands the Right better than half of all the gunowners out there!!
Great video Thank You for taking the time to shoot it.
How many Candidates have the balls to walk into a gun shop with cameras running? He's awesome.

if that is what he said, it REALLY surprises me. especially how he's so concerned about the rising police state and his explicit support of gun rights and how it is our only way to defend ourselves from tyranny. hmmm. and on the debate when they asked all the candidates who didn't own guns, the only ones who raised their hands were giuliani, romney and mccain. thoughts?

I saw that too. My money is that he's a gunner....

i really would think so too! i mean what good is a liberty if you don't use it? yes, it is his choice to own a gun or not and that is absolutely fine, it's just that he didn't raise his hand on the cnn debate and i really think of him as a gun owner. any way we could find this out?

Maybe he didn't raise his hand because he served in the military (not sure if he was issued a weapon but I'd assume so). I don't really see Ron Paul as owning a gun.

I think he sais something along the lines of

ive never owned a gun, then says something about his family being christian.

Maybe he is personally a hardcore christian.

I have never owned a gun in my life but I think the right to bear arms is one of the most important things to protect. I could never support someone for president who would try to restrict it.

Maybe he said that he doesn't have his cocealed carry license. I think someone asked him something about "packing" when he was a dr.

He has made it very clear he will protect your 2nd Amendment right and his voting record shows it so it really doesn't matter if he does or does not own a gun. He says over and over again that it is a very important issue to him.

Does Paul own rifles? I could of swore I heard something 6 months ago that mentioned Paul owning 2 or 3 rifles.

anitasanger

yeah surely he does. Maybe he said he doesn't own any handguns.

robertwerden

him owning a gun is not as important as being allowed to. I bet he could negotiate with a mugger any way.

I'm pretty sure that he does own guns, I think the answer was more about concealed carry although it's hard to hear from the video.

It's nobody's business whether he owns a gun or not. It's private, like his sex life.

It sounded like he said he had one like the one he was holding.

I have seen a photo of him receiving a rifle as a gift, I can't find it on the net though.

It is important to the 2nd amendment people, myself included. If he doesn't have one I will give him one.

amen to that! I'll donate the ammo! I'm sure that he has a gun. I feel that he should have a gun as well. I was just outraged when mccain Giuliani and Romney stated that they didnt have guns at the last debate. How can expect someone to protect a right that they don't even use themselves. I'm not saying this about ron because I know how passionate he is about gun rights. Its just that I really would think of him have a gun.

I thought he said, he never owned a gun like this before...but i've played rock music professionally for 10 years, so i don't always hear all the sound.

I'm no fan of Rudy McRomney, who would certainly not protect gun rights, but I don't think you need to own one to understand the constitution. I don't own one, and I respect the second amendment ...

I agree that its nobody elses business if he owns a gun or not, as long as he protects my right to own one, but in the debates a couple days ago, they asked all the candidates to raise their hands if they did not own a gun, and Ron didnt raise his hand, so im assuming he does. In the video im pretty sure he was saying he doesnt carry.

I own many guns, but I dont carry because my state laws suck major ass and dont allow it.

I was standing five feet from him at the gun shop and I heard him say that he was never much of a hunter. He said that it's been a long time since he's been hunting, and the last time he hunted he used a bow and arrow.

He mentioned that he owns a shotgun that somebody gave to him, but he's never fired it.
