Well, this explains all of the talking heads and pundits at the Fox networks who suddenly started singing the praises of Eric Cantor after he lost in his Primary Race against a Tea Party candidate. They know who butters their bread...

By Rupert Murdoch

When I learned that House Majority Leader Eric Cantor had lost his Republican primary, my heart sank. Not simply because I think he is an intelligent and talented member of Congress, or because I worry about the future of the Republican Party.

Like others who want comprehensive immigration reform, I worried that Mr. Cantor's loss would be misconstrued and make Congress reluctant to tackle this urgent need. That would be the wrong lesson and an undesirable national consequence of this single, local election result.

People are looking for leadership—those who stand for something and offer a vision for how to take America forward and keep our nation economically competitive. One of the most immediate ways to revitalize our economy is by passing immigration reform.

Murdoch is worried about the future of the Republican Party?

So, he's afraid that rank and file Republicans are no longer listening to him, won't nominate the hand-picked loser he selects for them, and will beat his beloved Democrats in the next presidential election?

Gee, that would be a shame.

the nicest thing he could do for the GOP as a historic entity is to just simply
quit trying to buy it and then merge or morph it into his vast media empire...

Funny, Cantor's loss had the opposite effect on me.

Guess Liberty isn't for those with a weak heart.

Works quite well for someone with a weak heart.

It's the heartless who can't abide by the stuff.

Party over principle at work

How do you figure? He implied he doesn't care much about the future of the Republican Party, only the principle that immigration reform, in his opinion, needs to be passed.

Agree. Murdoch has agendas, and he doesn't care which party or politicians helps achieve those goals.

He has agendas yes but he has unequivocally used Fox News as the voice of the RP. Such as it is.

He has also unequivocally done his level best to make his New York Post and other outlets the 'voice of' the DP. He has failed, but he has tried.

Oh shut it, Rupert, will you please?

Don't you have a Hillary fundraiser to host?

Concern troll is concerned.

He hasn't failed with Fox...albeit the establishment branch of the RP.

Murdoch has a heart?

Yes he does. He found it in a Cracker Jack Box. It isnt exactly a "real" heart tho... Maybe he should have followed the Yellow Brick Road?

Im sure he would also express "feeling bad" if Lindsey Graham ever lost too. And its exactly the problem, they only shed tears (induced by Onions) for their own; the Status Quo. Fuck Cantor and fuck Murdock.
