Does the author have a perverted view of things??

If Ron Paul were to win, he may very well act to decrease the influence of corporations on government. He would also reduce government to such an extend that corporations would no longer need to influence government to run the world their way.

Hahaha...

That guys know shit... De-regulation does not mean that corporations can run around all nimbly-bimbly, disrespect people's property rights along the way.

*sigh*

what this knucklehead doesnt seem to understand about corporations and big goverment, is the fact that it is the GOVERNMENT itself that grants special privledges to LARGE CORPORATIONS and subsidies that prevent startup companies to get a foot in the door as far as competition. His views are insane and cannot be reasoned with. ............. fagetabatit ;)

I don't really think we can convince anybody who thinks corporations are the scourge of the earth. They're a necessary part of any economy. Corporations are just aggregations of people working together, they don't gain any unfair advantage by doing so, unless government gives it to them.

And besides, the author got it backwards. Conservatives view human beings as generally good, which is why they endorse freedom, liberals see humans as inherently bad, which is why they think we need to be regulated.

I saw the "fitnessfor theoccasion" in the link and didn't even click. He's a silly little progressive. He's printed other Ron Paul columns - one saying that Paul is a racist, and another whining that Ron Paul wouldn't outlaw hate speech.

I have no doubt that he has quickly discovered that putting "Ron Paul" in his blog will give him lots of hits.

Those Progressives are a real hoot, they all wanna get outta Iraq and go right into Darfur. Makes a lot of sense, leave one Civil War in the region only to get involved in another bloody sectarian conflict close by.

He is worried about corporatism and doesn't understand that it is CAUSED by government, so you sure as heck don't want to increase the size of government and expect them to combat what they created in the first place.

Even worse! I work in software, and the largest consmer of software is THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT!! They ARE a coporation.

Get them out of the way so the private corps can make the world a better place - oh, and actually turn a profit doing it rather than borrowing billions a day to stay in business.

The corporations won't crap on the little guy per se, since they need the little guy to buy their products to stay in business.

Corporations are too powerful. The corporation was formed to originally to allow a very specific project such as an expensive bridge to be built for the public good. Then lawyers managed to get corporations "personhood" and all the rights of a person. But corporations are not like you and me, they behave almost exactly as serial killers do in that they have no conscience and are required by law to pursue profit above all else. This has created a monster that is now swallowing up earth and killing all life. These are not overstatements. The path to freedom will require us to reduce the power and size of corporations through government regulation and overall reform of the corporate form.

I propose:

• the People revoke the charters of those corporations shown to have repeatedly disregarded public safety and health { Dupont, Monsanto, ADM, Cargill, etc. etc etc come to mind } as well as those with a record of repeated fraud { Halliburton, Bechtel etc etc etc }

• the charters of all corporations should now begin with a statement like " the health and safety of life on earth shall be the foremost concern above profit

• corporations should be prohibited from purchasing other corporations - no more "mergers and acquisitions", no more unknown ownership

• we need real oversight with teeth, unfortunately. Allowing the corporations to run wild and free is not making a better future at all... perhaps limiting liability is not the way?

What do you think?
