Livingston County primary election candidate forums have been scheduled for June 24 and July 1.

Doors open at 6 p.m. on both of those Tuesday evenings, and the forums get underway at 6:30 p.m.

On June 24 in the Howell High School auditorium, the forum will include candidates for the 47th state House District (the seat currently held by state Rep. Cindy Denby, R-Handy Township) as well as the 8th U.S. Congressional District (the seat held now by U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers, R-Howell).

On July 1 at the Brighton Center for the Performing Arts at Brighton High School, the forum will be for candidates for the 42nd state House District (the seat currently held by state Rep. Bill Rogers, R-Genoa Township) and a second forum for the candidates of the 8th Congressional District.

Readers can submit suggestions for questions to be asked at the forums by emailing them to mmalott @ gannett.com.

Phil Campbell, a candidate for Denby's seat, is a liberty candidate.

I have not seen any polling, but the establishment is supporting a vet from Fowlerville, while AFP is supporting a Howell school board member. Campbell is currently the mayor of Howell, and as such he has a better legislative record to stand on. Also, he's got a wicked strong team of volunteers - home schoolers and youth group members are out knocking on doors every weekend. We can win this seat, but the opposition has deeper pockets.

Can you help him win, by donating? (https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_flow&SESSION=ilVEDB4Wjg_PJ9IqmYYEgvQOZ4ERXmXsSNhoFXuqYv aUGhy2TNHUhJQMIPu&dispatch=5885d80a13c0db1f8e263663d3faee8d6cdb53fcf ca2b5941339e576d7e42259) http://electphilcampbell.blogspot.com/p/news.html

I met Phil last fall at a harvest party; he seems like a liberty focused candidate for sure. Thanks for sharing that link.

I've heard that Phil Campbell's the best mayor in Howell in a long time. I'm in the 42nd. I'm trying to decide between Lana Theis and Nick Fiani. There's not a chance that I'm voting for Perlberg after reading his editorials.

Tom did well in the candidate forums. Some videos are on the newspaper's website. http://www.livingstondaily.com/

I noticed our county party chair starting to make comments online about a couple of the forum answers regarding the 42nd district. I don't know who he's voting for, but those answers are a clear shot at Rich Perlberg's comments regarding the gas tax.
