LOL!!!!

Rep. Trent Franks (R-Ariz.) echoed the opinion that Cantor’s position on immigration is not to blame for the loss.
“Eric Cantor was universally and is universally loved in this caucus. We’re all heartbroken that he’s heartbroken,” Franks said. “On the most foundational issues…both the person who won last night and Eric were pretty much on the same page.”

LOL! Yes, I was thinking that it was probably best, since he can't even win a primary election.

He is no longer effective in this role because he is unable to leverage his power.... he cannot dole out favors or inflict punishment to whip the vote.

Spot on Collinz. He lost the ring of power; he can no longer wield. So, should we try to harness the power or throw it into the fire? (/thread jack)

That spineless jellyfish John Boehner will appoint/sell/force McCarthy, another crony insider, like the rest, that hold their insider secret meetings, like the one @ Mt Weather back in 2008 when the Dubya/Cheney and the NEOCONS had their asses handed to them.

Then there's this option backed by Amash: http://www.nationaljournal.com/congress/crunch-time-for-house-conservatives-it-s-jeb-hensarling-or-bust-20140611

"Tonight I will pray that @RepHensarling runs for majority leader," Rep. Justin Amash, a frequent critic of the current leadership, tweeted Wednesday night. "I respect him & trust him. Our country needs him."

If Hensarling does run, he gives conservatives a chance to infiltrate the top two of GOP leadership. Senior Republicans believe he would give McCarthy a competitive race for three reasons: his standing as a former chairman of the Republican Study Committee; his conference-wide reputation as a fiscal hawk; and his relationships in the Texas delegation, which boasts two dozen votes in next week's election. (Another Texan, Rep. Pete Sessions, wants to run against McCarthy, but sources say he would defer to Hensarling.)

As for Eric Cantor's list lavish lifestyle of; graft, corruption, and racketeering is beyond reproach... "Cantor, Don't Let The Door Hit You In The Ass On The Way Out!"

Boehner doesn't have any more say as to who becomes Majority Leader than any other member of the House caucus. You are right that McCarthy is a carbon copy of Cantor (the two of them have been conspiring together trying to get the ENLIST ACT to the floor as a Trojan horse for Amnesty) but this is a fight we can definitely win. Politicians crave power more than anything else, and what happened to Cantor has them all on edge. If the grass roots makes their voices heard, this is a very winnable fight.
