Unlikely. Probably will be Gore with his fear mongering.

Nope.

What is that suppose to mean? Way to go for writing a thoughtful response and you are a moderator...

He could be the potential person of the year if something really really huge happens on Dec 16th.

dec. 16th is most likely too late to become person of the year;) PLUS Time Magazine sadly will never ever elect someone as Dr. Paul person of the year :(

Because, you completely misunderstand the intent of the magazine awarding such an honor: it's for the person that either has achieved the most fantastical accomplishment, or was the top newsmaker, for the year.

Sadly, I don't think the media will see Dr Paul as falling into either of those categories.

I don't think it will happen either. And really, it's irrelevant. This movement is sounding the horn of the impending fall into irrelevance of old media, we don't need their worthless accolades.

Ron Paul will be Time's Man of the Year in 2009.

They've already chosen the top 10 "POY" candidates and Ron Paul wasn't on the list, so NO. Currently J.K. Rowling and Al Gore are fighting it our for 1st and 2nd place on the poll.

Lets just vote for J.K Rowling

After the Tea Party, the amounts raised should be enough enable Paul to point a wand at the other contenders and say, EXPECTO PATRONUM!!

I remember when they were asking for suggestions on nominations. Ron Paul was overwhelmingly requested by people. They decided to ignore him like most of the mainstream media, however.

I requested him and added this comment

My choice is Ron Paul. He is a man who has delivered the same principled message for 30 years and he is right. Our empire is crumbling abroad while our dollar devalues and our rights are stripped away.

If for some reason America does not choose him as our next President, and we continue on this course Ron Paul will long be remembered as the last chance that almost was.

In a land of worthless debates about non-issues and personalities he is the last forefather, a statesman who is the lone voice of reason.

Ron Paul is the candidate of destiny and the Man of the Year.

Everyone on that list, aside from JK Rowlings is crooked! The whole magazine is crooked. It's owned by Time Warner. Anyone who posted a comment when the poll first came out could see that 2/3's of the comments were for Ron Paul and he didn't even make it into the top 10!!!

Right. Time is owned by GE who receives billions in govt contracts. GE/Time-Warner is one of the most entrenched with the Feds. Unless of course there is a mini-revolution in Time's management team.

Ron Paul has already been a success. If this liberties revolution inspired by Ron Paul can make a change in US policies at home and abroad, Ron Paul would be Man of the Decade and not just man of the year.

Ron isn't even mentioned in the upcoming issue of time that specifically points out that the the GOP race is wide open. He is not mentioned once.
