Why isn't the NSA stopping these tragedies?

Large groups of students were ushered out of the school with their hands behind their heads.

Already seeing conflicting reports, this station's coverage says two shooters:

I'm trying to confirm reports that media has been kept away, and of however many cellphones that were in that school, only one text message managed to get sent.

It always seem like that is the state media's MO. two gunmen always seems to turn into the lone nut.

Counselors were heading to the high school to talk with students.

SSRIs in hand, no doubt.

Your question is impertinent, as if you really thought such was the reason for them spying on everybody.

Report of multiple communications from the school, hopefully these will get complied somewhere.

This is a VERY different account of what happened!

Reynolds High School was locked down for more than an hour Thursday after a student reported seeing a man with a gun in a park adjacent to the school.

The student told officers stationed at the Troutdale school that as he walked through Columbia Park, he saw a man flash a handgun near his waist, said Marc Shrake, Troutdale Police Department public information officer.

As police searched the park with a K-9 unit, they received a call from the parent of a Reynolds student, who reported that someone in the hallways was shouting about a gun. High school officials then stopped classes, turned off lights and told students to stay away from windows and doors.

Officers did not find a gun or a suspect.

The lockdown was lifted at about 1:30 p.m. Students were given a lunch period and then returned to class.

Makes sense to me, sloppy journalism from some keyboard pounder who isn't in the field. If someone says 2 shooters before the journo and police verify, you can attribute "two shooters" eye witness x said. Doesn't make it true, truth takes more work - and frankly journos are underpaid peons who look for easy stories because they are doing a crazy amount of work for little reward.

Edit: also link you put up seems to be local tv.
