So this is what the Kashkari campaign was about ... it was one of the fakest I've ever seen. Former Asst. Treasury Secretary wielding an axe while talking about how hard he works.

Republican Neel Kashkari has bested GOP firebrand Tim Donnelly for second place in California’s gubernatorial primary Tuesday, clearing the way for Kashkari to challenge Democratic Gov. Jerry Brown this fall.

Brown is expected to win reelection easily, but Donnelly’s exit is still a relief to establishment Republicans who feared his history of controversial positions and comments could hurt the GOP up and down the ballot in November...

Donnelly’s strength concerned Republican strategists — not because Brown is a realistic target — but because they feared the Republican’s hard-line stance on immigration and personal baggage could damage other Republicans running in California this fall, as well as the party’s broader effort to rebrand itself nationally. Donnelly has been on probation for taking a loaded gun to an airport, for example, and he also accused Kashkari of embracing Sharia law.

So predictable:

Kashkari's California win a victory for GOP establishment (http://www.latimes.com/nation/politics/politicsnow/la-me-pc-california-governors-race-analysis-20140604-story.html)

From a national perspective, his win marks another triumph for the Republican establishment, which has beat back “tea party” challenges in all but a few races this year.

Along with Wilson and Romney, GOP stalwarts like Karl Rove rallied behind Kashkari’s candidacy, the latter in unusually blunt terms, and the collective weight of their warnings — and Kashkari’s self-funding to the tune of more than $2 million — clearly helped sink Donnelly in the closing days of the campaign.

What this so-called reporter glaring left out was the Jeb Bush endorsement, which was the number one thing touted by Kashkari during the campaign.

Kashkari Beats Tea Party Foe in California Governor Race (http://www.nytimes.com/2014/06/05/us/politics/kashkari-beats-tea-party-foe-in-california-governor-race.html)

SAN FRANCISCO — Neel Kashkari, a former Treasury official and a moderate Republican running for governor of California, won over a Tea Party favorite in the state’s primary elections late Tuesday, and will face Gov. Jerry Brown, who steamrolled to first place Tuesday, in the general election in November.

Mr. Kashkari’s victory over Tim Donnelly, a Republican assemblyman from Southern California, came as a relief to state and national Republican officials hoping to rebuild their party in the nation’s most populous state.

LOL. Rebuild? Sorry, it's the end.

Yep, they don't want to stand on principle, they want squishy celebrities like Arnold.
