Even the leftists on the new "Daily Show" spin-off can make some good points at times. The new show, "Last Week with John Oliver", did a segment this week on Net Neutrality and the FCC. Here are some highlights:

At 2:23 - "the internet in it's current form is not broken, and the FCC is currently taking steps to fix that."

At 6:14 - They talk about crony corporatism, and Obama's cozy relationship with cable company executives. The icing on the cake was Obama's appointment of a long time cable company lobbyist as the Chairman of the FCC! The latest proposals at the FCC should come as no surprise. Pure crony corporatism.

At 7:18 - They talk about the lack of competition in the cable industry.

At 7:50 - There is a damning clip from the CEO of Comcast, talking about how they had colluded with Time Warner to carve up the nation.

More information on the current Chairman of the FCC. No conflict of interest here.:

Thomas E. Wheeler is the current Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, appointed by President Obama and confirmed by the U.S. Senate in November, 2013. Prior to working at the FCC, Wheeler worked as a venture capitalist and lobbyist for the cable and wireless industry, with positions including President of the National Cable Television Association (NCTA)

Does laughing at the demise of mankind make us feel better about it? Maybe make it easier to swallow? Does a spoonful of sugar make the medicine go down?

To their credit, they do call for action at the end of the piece.

Now what their viewers would say to the FCC may not be very nuanced. They will probably simply demand "net neutrality", and Obama and the lobbyist-head of the FCC will be glad to take action which will have nothing to do with any neutrality.

So should we take him up on his challenge? A message "bomb" to the FCC?

Laughter is the best medicine. I have to tell you, that was pretty darn funny and you know what? If it connects with people and they start to call a spade a spade atleast they figured it out. Net neutrality isn't a right vs left thing.
