Seattle's proposed $15 minimum wage has yet to pass, but it is already hurting the labor market, according to the Washington Policy Center.

A proposal to raise Seattle's minimum wage up to $15 is controversial, and while the measure has not passed, small businesses are panicked. Many businesses are holding off on expanding or hiring additional workers, while those who want to start new businesses have postponed their plans...

The mayor of Seattle proposes to phase in the $15 increase, spreading it out over seven years. However, when they head to the ballot box in November, voters may face a ballot measure that would require all large employers to begin paying $15 next year. Small business owners would have just three years to adjust to the new wage...

While a study, commissioned by Seattle's mayor Ed Murray and the City Council last year, predicted that the $15 wage would reduce poverty and help workers, the study did not even examine the proposal's impact on employment. As movement within the Seattle business community indicates, the wage increase will hurt jobs, curb growth and send businesses to neighboring cities.

Idiot America will catch on when they are hungry and homeless... nation of fools. Don't worry, the proponents just won't count those unemployed or unable to contact, or whatever, to mask the truth.

1 in 6 American Men Between Ages 25-54 Are Not Working

Startling charts from the Republicans on the Senate Budget Committee about male participation in the labor force, particularly men between the ages of 25-54:

"There are currently 61.1 million American men in their prime working years, age 25–54. A staggering 1 in 8 such men are not in the labor force at all, meaning they are neither working nor looking for work. This is an all-time high dating back to when records were first kept in 1955. An additional 2.9 million men are in the labor force but not employed (i.e., they would work if they could find a job). A total of 10.2 million individuals in this cohort, therefore, are not holding jobs in the U.S. economy today. There are also nearly 3 million more men in this age group not working today than there were before the recession began," the Republicans on the Senate Budget Committee claim.
