Officer, wife arrested for child endangerment, intoxication

SEQUOYAH COUNTY, Okla. —Wednesday morning Naaman Adcock resigned from the Fort Smith Police Department, according to a news release from the department.

The Sequoyah County Sheriff's Department arrested a Fort Smith police officer and his wife on several charges, including child endangerment and intoxication.

Naaman Adcock, 40, and his wife, 31-year-old Tabatha Adcock, were arrested Tuesday.

Naaman Adcock’s bond is set at $24,000, while Tabatha Adcock’s bond is $14,000.

Deputies were called to the home near Long Community, north of Muldrow, Oklahoma, around 2:30 a.m. by a neighbor.

Deputies said Naaman Adcock pointed a gun at a 5-year-old's head.

The incident report noted that a young girl went to a neighbor's house and said Naaman Adcock threatened her brother.

Deputies said when they arrived at the home, Naaman Adcock pointed a gun at them before surrendering. Investigators said they conducted interviews with the children and other witnesses and made the arrests based on their findings.

The Fort Smith Police Department is conducting its own investigation.
