Of course, one basic truth of Texas politics affects every party primary: Only the meanest, maddest or most motivated voters show up.

Truth number one. Liberty folks can do all the sign waving, forum posting and Twitter tweeting they want, but showing up is key. It's why folks like Katrina Pierson lost- the numbers weren't on their side one and two, didn't have backing from someone other than people who already would have backed them. Strong rhetoric is one thing. Actually consistently showing up, being a part of the Party process, playing an active role- that changes the nature of the conversation.
