I thought it would be cool to make the letter included with the tea bags a little more "authentic". The more elaborate we make our little packages (within reason) the more likely they are to grab attention.

After a little trial and error I came up with a quick and painless method.

After you've designed and printed your letter. Brew some coffee. Preheat your oven to 250 degrees.

Place the printed letter onto a cookie sheet and pour the brewed coffee on top until it is covered.

Move the paper around in the liquid until fully saturated. You can use this same coffee for multiple letters.

Shake to remove excess coffee.

Take another cookie sheet and carefully place your now soaked letter into it with the print side up. Stick this into the oven.

Pay close attention to the letter inside of the oven, it won't take long to dry out.

After a couple of minutes you'll notice the corners of the paper start to lift from the sheet.

You should end up with something like what is pictured below.

A word of warning, don't get discouraged if you don't get it right the first couple of times. You might rip the letter while trying to shake off the excess coffee. Take your time on the first few and you'll be banging out 10 to 20 in an hour. It would probably be a lot faster if I had a clothes line and some clothes pins. Maybe next time.

I plan on redesigning my letter a little more and taking it to get printed on a better printer than my home inkjet. Any other suggestions?

Very impressive! How fragile is the final result?

Its can be bended, folded and crumpled without any trouble. I have a stack of messups that were kept in the oven too long, you can treat them just like normal paper.

If you look close you can notice that I have easily trifolded my test version.
