That’s among likely voters (http://maristpoll.marist.edu/wp-content/misc/KYPolls/KY140430/Complete%20May%202014%20Kentucky%20NBC%20News__Mar ist%20Poll%20Release%20and%20Tables.pdf) too, although when you’re looking at a lead this big, it doesn’t much matter which slice of adults you’re using.

I thought next Tuesday’s primary night open thread would be rip-roaring food-fight fun between “true conservatives” and RINOs. Instead, we’re destined for a snoozer. Note the tea-party numbers, in particular. Bevin never got traction even among his ostensible core constituency.

It is still enough to elect Grimes if McConnell stops voting like someone who might be conservative on some issues.

Much as I don't want to say it, I think McConnell's going to retain his seat. Maybe by a slim margin, but I don't see either Bevin taking this or Grimes beating him out unless Kentucky as a whole really wants him gone and wants Grimes in his place.

Hooray for Jesse Benton and Ron Paul Inc. Their man Mitch is likely to move forward.

If Kentucky didn't oust McConnell in 2008 during Obamania, they're not going to do it in 2014 in what should be a big GOP year.

McConnell underperformed McCain by 10%. I'm still scratching my head at the independent polls... three weeks ago, McC lead was17% (http://gravismarketing.com/polling-and-market-research/latest-telephone-survey-show-mcconnell-ahead-in-kentucky/). I wish they were more encouraging... he is everything that is wrong with politics. Direct payments for his bailout votes make up most of his top 5 donors, the corruption is that obvious.

No doubt this will lead to another high-paying job for Benton and company to elect some of the worst scumbag establishment politicians out there. Hooray for liberty, I guess.

McConnell underperformed McCain by 10%.

That's because McConnell had an opponent who was running ads, campaigning and generally trying to win. Whereas Obama made no effort whatsoever to win Kentucky in 2008.

Kentucky is also a swing state when it comes to local politics.
