Hmmmm! This just into my mailbox ... wonder how they got my addy! I was really sorry to hear they didn't meet their "moneybomb" goal for the day  Think its also very curious that they mention McCain, Romney and Jilliani and ole whatshisname but still refuse to speak Ron's name out loud. Why is that do you think?

Dear Huckabee Ranger;

With hours to go until our midnight fundraising deadline we are closing in on our goal!

We are $159,431 away from reaching our November fundraising goal, will you make an immediate online contribution to help us close the gap?

We have raised over $200,000 today online with contributions from over 2,000 first-time contributors.

Reaching our November goal will give us over $3 million cash-on-hand to invest in Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and beyond. Money to run ads, hire staff, print yard signs, grassroots literature and so much more. For days now we have been competing in Iowa for the lead in the polls and today new polls in New Hampshire and South Carolina also show us rising in each state to third place ahead of Fred Thompson and John McCain and closing in on Rudy Giuliani and Mitt Romney.

I said earlier today that our rivals are attacking us with everything they have: kitchen sinks and a lot of misinformation. The attacks keep coming but we are resolute in countering them by talking to voters about the issues that matter.

Will you help us paint the map red? Your immediate contribution of $5, $10, $25, $50, $100, $1,000 or whatever you can afford will help us reach this goal.

This is the toughest challenge our team has ever faced and we are running out of time. I am confident this goal is attainable but it will take your renewed support this evening.

Will you endorse our campaign with a contribution? Will you dig deep with me and close the gap? Will we paint the map red?

With deep gratitude,

Mike Huckabee

That's actually pretty cool to get an email from the candidate himself, I'm glad the Huckabee Rangers are sharing the fun. I remember getting that email from Dr. Paul some time ago and it was quite a moment :)

Huckabee's campaign is nothing but lies! They didn't reach over $2million by midnight, I was at his site...I just visited again, and they are bragging "WE DID IT!" What a bunch of liars.

I emailed all the candidates at 10questions dot com and Huckabee was the only one who responded... he's definately has some "spammers" working for him now.

Huckster is still in the "ignore" them stage of the "ignore, ridicule, fight" list.

He thinks he can use the "Carter strategy" of focus solely on Iowa, then roll to NH and the other primaries. Problem is that J Carter had 36 days between Iowa & NH, this year there are only 5 days between them; and LESS than 36 days to Super-Duper-Tuesday.

So news bulletin to the Huckster -- the Jimmy Carter "Iowa" strategy probably isn't going to work.

Dear Huckabee Ranger

I know others have noted this as somewhat "odd", "cute", etc.

But anyone else notice the over-the-top, overt Nazi-brownshirt-like use of military "grades" -- Ranger, Lieutenant, General, etc -- for Huckabee's supporters.

Just a little too weirdly coincidental to my mind.

Ranger isn't a grade/rank... It's like "seabee" or "combat engineer."

I know Air Force "Rangers." (Members of the Air Force that have been to Army Ranger school.)

I think most of the money is coming from Rudy supporters.

Huckabee is being used by these people to try to defeat Romney and Thompson and the others until Ghouliani has a chance to start winning big delegate counts later in the primaries.

Huckster will never be the GOP nominee. But Rudy may have made a deal with him to select him as VP. That would be typical slimy NY politics and dealmaking.

Huckster is as bad the Clinton crime family. Man From Hope, my butt.

is a huckabee ranger like a brokeback mountaineer?

Just a label. Bush used "Pioneers" back in 2000, I think.

The idea is to make your couch potato supporters and various campaign jocksniffers feel all heroic and filled with civic virtue by donating to some sad clown of a politician who is peddling nannystate authoritarian policy under the guise of "compassion" and flimflamming the sweet naive Christian types.

It would not susrprise me if 20% of the Huckabee accounts are spies. They only have around 900 members.

No need to be vitriolic towards the Huckabee fans. They've been quite courteous to us. It's ok that we disagree on issues, but eventually we'd like their support too!

I would prefer, "Naive RELIGIOUS types."
