MSM (in this case AP) has declared an open season on Ron Paul? It will not work.

Ron Paul Praises Convicted Tax Evaders (http://www.wcax.com/Global/story.asp?S=6709968&nav=4QcS)

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - New Hampshire's convicted tax evaders Ed and Elaine Brown have gained a new supporter: presidential hopeful Ron Paul.

In an interview with RogueGovernment.com, the Texas congressman compares the Browns to Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King Junior. He says the Browns are suffering like those leaders.

The Browns are holed up in their Plainfield (New Hampshire) home and have threatened violence against federal officials if marshals come to arrest them. They were convicted of an elaborate scheme to hide millions of dollars in income. Their protest has become a rallying cry for anti-tax activists and militia members.

We know the gov't is a repressor of civil liberties at home and an opressive force abroad. It shouldn't be this way... this is America! I think everyone can agree that the powers asserted by the current regime (both dem and repub) represent a betrayal of not only our "revolution," but also the religion that we so often claim our country was founded on. No matter what your political persuasion, we all realize that the murder of innocent people is wrong, and that supporting murder if only through complicity is morally reprehensible (take that to mean war, abortion, death penalty, etc., wherever you find concern).

Really though, who is suprised to hear that some folks refuse to pay their taxes? We can toss the moral implications of law-breaking/civil disobedience around until the end of time, but the truth is that it is not our place to judge the Browns or anyone else for standing up for what they believe in. If you are a follower of the Abrahamic faith you probably don't (or shouldn't) need me to tell you this. We are all on this earth together.

That being said and understanding the nation's current political climate, it would be great to see everyone come to the aid of those standing up against this regime of death; assuming (in my opinion) that the protest stays above the level of those being protested against. Whether one chooses to evade taxes for philosophical reasons, constitutional interpretation, greed, or in protest against the fascist war machine, the desired ends remain the same... withdrawl of support both a)explicitly by speaking out or demonstrating and b)implicitly by witholding taxes, refusing to provide information, and any number of other means.

That said, it is important to note that threatening violence will get you nowhere. The degree to which you assert your second amendment rights will have no bearing on the outcome of you actions. Those who you would seek to protest have not only the right, but unfortunately the public mandate to bear far more arms than any individual or group. If this were to change, bet your booty ATF won't let it stand for it long.

In closing please remember that revolution is not a moment, but a way of life. The lines have been drawn, the battle has begun, they've got the guns but our weapons are far more powerful. We don't have to fight with bullets because we've got the numbers, we've got the information. Standing up in the trenches only gets you shot (think factories, mills, and national guard turn of the last century).

Man AP is doing a lot of things to either censor Ron Paul or to smear him.

Good job with those links Jorge! The Union Leader (Manchester, NH) also printed the AP version you posted in their paper this morning:

This would be why I was fearful of Ron Paul voicing opinions on that situation.
