FOUKE, AR (KSLA) -
A Fouke school bus driver was arrested Thursday as he pulled up to the school campus to pick up students for his afternoon route.

Samuel Richardson, 67, is charged with internet stalking of a child.

KSLA News 12 was there as Miller County Chief Deputy Dewayne White and Arkansas State Police Investigator John Rhone stepped on to Richardson's bus and took him into custody around 3 p.m. Thursday as several other officers from both agencies stood by.

White says Richardson was arrested on a warrant after he arranged a meeting with what he thought was a 13-year-old child. Internet stalking of a child is a Class B felony, which is applied when a person attempts to arrange a meeting with a child aged 15 years or younger, even if that meeting with the child never takes place.

"Some of things that were being texted back and forth between the defendant and the child were highly inappropriate,," said White.

According to White, the investigation and sting was prompted by a complaint from the parents of a 10-year-old girl who used to ride his bus, who told them he had made inappropriate advances toward her. They alleged that Richardson changed his bus route so that the girl would be the last on the route. At this point, White says no charges are expected in connection with those allegations.

Richardson has been booked into the Miller County Detention Center.

Chief White says this case is not related to other alleged sexual predator cases over the past few weeks, but he says he does expect to make more arrests on similar charges in the near future.
