View Full Version : How did Huckabee raise so much in a day?

I think I saw on the morning of the 30th, a scant 14 hours ago, that it was at 1.4 or 1.5M. It barely budged overnight.

Now I see past mightnight that he supposedly raised around 500,000 to 600,000 in 14 hours - still short ~30 of the goal but much closer that I thought it would have gotten. I know his campaign didn't raise that much today. What gives? Did they hold all the offline donations till the end of the month? Are they just fudging numbers to boost morale?

I kept my feelers open and certainly haven't heard of any type of serious money bomb for the Huckster.

I agree, I will be interested in looking back on these dates in the Q4 FEC filings.

Of course, with any luck Huck will be nearly irrelevant by the time the numbers come out.

they were also struggling to complete their goal of 2 million-something dollars for november. far behind us.

Simple. They began adding in the off-line donations from prior to November 10 (or whenever they started saying that they'd include it in the online from then on only if you mailed it in with a note saying to include it).

they probably sent something out to try and reach their november goal.

Exactly. Today is the last day of the month. So they added in all offline donations.

I agree with what this guy says, although it sucks that Paul didnt pick up this new support as well.

I liked Romney line at the debate "But thats not your money its the taxpayers" with regarding to giving out scholarships.

Charity is good, but that is a personal choice, the government shouldn't force you to engage in charity via taxes, that in my mind is not a free society.

Thats not to say thats someone is shouldn't donate as much as they can afford every to charity.
