View Full Version : Will the crappy job market for people just coming out of college create a socialist impulse?

By all measures, the job market is woeful for young people coming out of college. They are resorting to working in retail, food, etc. The system is making it hard for them to be economically independent with their own abode, insurance, etc. Will they blame free markets or will they blame some thing else? Because full employment legislation would be a very popular theme for a politician wanting to win over the young vote.

They do not need insurance , they need income . Govt regulation has prevented them an opportunity to get a job/income .Will they seek more retard govt ? Will they be commies ? I would guess most already are. Govt cannot solve problems , it can though create them . Will they be stupid enough to support more govt to " solve " the problems they feel ? Or will they grab some boot straps and take care of themselves ?What would you think if you were 17 , never worked a full day in your life and everything given to you ? Well , baby bird will look for the next worm from Momma.

There was a time when the country was slightly less socialist and working in "retail, food, etc" was enough to provide for a large family. It's still possible to do that but it requires skepticism of the education industrial complex that one is brainwashed with at a young age and an intelligence for innovative marketing.

The job market is not going to improve , 6 in 10 Americans work . Govt has grown and regulated to the point it will not improve . The stagnation for these yrs will stay , unless /until it gets worse . Improvement can only come from small business , govt has killed that. The US is a banana republic without the fruit.

Most young people are RP supporters but at the same time they don't mind government help. So I'm guessing in between Rand Paul and Kucinich.

I don't think most college grads are too excited about being on welfare or unemployment, hopefully it will push them toward free market principles.

Most young people overall are not RP supporters.

Sounds like the question of which came first; the chicken or the egg.

I think it is the stealth back-door socialism that sucked the wealth out of the capital, capitalism needs to function.
