Anything a cop does doesn't surprise me anymore. It still doesn't change anything.

True, but I thought this was a nice change of pace.

Someday Carlo will realize he is not a ward of the state and just not register his personal conveyance. That $100 came form his taxes.

True, but I thought this was a nice change of pace.

It was a nice gesture, although the money was immediately given back to the police officer via state registration fees. It all happens within a framework that simply doesn't allow you to win.

If caught driving in Texas more than five days after the expiration month of your registration, it is a $200 fine. The officer, as per the video, issued him a citation.

Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined that someone gets issued a citation with a personal subtraction from the total, still being in the hole $100, to go on to equate paying registration on two vehicles on the account of the remaining $-100.

Does he not realize how hard he's been fucked?

This is what I didn't get. That $100 probably doesn't even cover the citation -- if the officer really wanted to help him out why didn't he just not issue the citation??

Yeah, that's really the crux of the matter. I really don't get it.

Or it could be that the $100 came from a rare pang of conscience over having stolen it from his last traffic stop.

Actually I don't believe that the "anonymous" cop did that. :)
