View Full Version : How much will we raise on December 16th?

Consider all the media attention Ron Paul has finally been getting (all be it not nearly as much as he deserves or that is fair), the invites to various shows, and the debates. Also consider how many donors actually come from pledges (twice as many) and how many new donors are lurking around this project. Also consider that there are more than two weeks between now and the 16th for a good push!

We raised 4.3 million on November 5th.

I think we'll double it on the 16th.

8.6 Million.

What do you think?

I like to guess conservatively on these sorts of things, so as not to set myself up for a disappointment. My guess is around $5 million, not including any offline donations the campaign decides to add in that day.

5,838 donors today. That is like 2.5 times more than those who pledged. Taking into account that a lot of people are waiting to max out on the 16th, I would deduce that your 8.6 million estimate is pretty accurate.

well, some major pushes for teaparty07 were done, unfortunetly, when the site was down.. so, I also think that there are a few 'fakes' like the blimp.

I personally do not think it will outpace the Nov. 5th total. But, I was wrong about that one too.

Between 6 - 8 mil. I guessed 3 - 4 mil for 11/5 and was a little short, but in the ballpark.

This is my real guess to.

Would we settle for anything less than 6.2?

My official prediction: anywhere from a lot of money to a whole lot of money.

on sportsbook... they set an over/under line origionally at 5 million, paying 5-6 odds on either over or under.

sportsbook has since changed their line, to over/under 6 million, but the over only pays 1 - 2 and the under pays 3-2. so sportsbook predicts around 7 million.

i think it will be at least over 6 million. but we're probably looking at around 8. i'm really hoping for the 10 million though.

i think the big thing will be the average donation amount. for the 5th, the average donation was around $103 i think (so most people donated $100). i think this time, the average donation might be higher.. hopefully around $150.... so i think the combination of more contributers and a higher average donation should put us in good shape. i'm hoping for a total of $20 million for the quarter.

In the last 2 moneybombs on Nov 5 and Nov 30, the number of donators were about double that signed up. If we are to achieve 10 million dollars, we need to have at least 50,000 pledges, and I don't see that happening with the current trends.

I think 5-6 million is plausible. As long it beats John Kerry's $5.7 million all-time high, it will be good enough.

A good way to raise more money would be to encourage people to go "all-in" for December 16th, since this money will be used in January advertising for 5 February Super Tuesday, when the race will be probably over.

Agree. People who really want to make Dec 16th big, and those who can afford it, need to donate as much as they possibly can.

Remember, if advertising purchases are about a month ahead of the events, then December 16th is basically reloading the muskets for the Michigan Primary on January 15th!!!

$10mil easy. This campaign has absolutely exploded since Nov. 5th. No question the 16th is going to blow the roof off of this thing and from that day on it will be a celebration. Ha! kidding, much work will be done til the end!

Here's my prediction:

39,000 pledges at least by December 16th.

2.74 times as many donors.

About $125 average per person:

106,860 total donors

$13,357,500 overall

I think I may actually be underestimating this though.

IF paul doesn't go on Hardball then I'd be inclined to knock 1million off the total.

If Paul doesn't go on Glen Beck, knock another 500k off the total.

If Paul does in fact, do the above and hits both interviews out of the park like we all know he would... December 16th will mark the day America said "politics, as usual are over."

I'm hoping for at least $5-6 million. We actually did slightly better today than what I thought we would. I only kicked in $25 myself, but I'll be dropping several hundred on the 16th.
