Enumerated Powers Act (http://johnshadegg.house.gov/news/DocumentSingle.aspx?DocumentID=13333)

The Enumerated Powers Act, H.R. 2458, requires that all bills introduced in the U.S. Congress include a statement setting forth the specific constitutional authority under which the law is being enacted. This measure will force a continual re-examination of the role of the national government, and will fundamentally alter the ever-expanding reach of the federal government.

Ron Paul co-sponsored this bill. This is something we should help push.

Is it up for a vote?

It's actually a couple of years old. So probably not. Another "Vampire Bill"... never sees the light of day. But something like this should be re-introduced and pushed like crazy. Definitely more reasonable than my idea that any congressman who introduces or votes for an unconstitutional bill should be brought up on perjury charges for violating their oath of office.:)

It's H. R. 1359, not 2458.

Also, good for Jeff Flake (AZ) and John Duncan (TN) for cosponsoring it. Aside from Ron Paul, they're about the only two Republican Congressmen I have any faith in.
