Does anyone know?

One thing I wanted to point out....

1 $200 dollar donation is more money in Rons coffer than 4 $25 donations.

Try to make yours as large as you can each time and cut down on lots of small donations if possible.

I'd wadger its a negotiated rate. Most likely transactions would be charged on a sliding scale discounted by volume

I am using my checking card too, which is definite than a full credit charge... but hopefully there is some reduced rate for political fundraising...

Do not use Discover or American Express, they take out ridiculous amounts from each transaction compared to Visa and Mastercard

I'm an Amex user -- true to their typical frugality, they do not TAKE Discover or American Express.

I had to dig an old dusty Visa out of my drawer. :) Its my special new Ron Paul credit card.

Paypal charges 2.9% plus $.30 cents for each CC donation.
Donations from bank accounts and paypal accounts are charged the same rate, but with a max of 5 dollars I believe it was.

The more Ron Paul does get with paypal, the lower his rate will be.

BTW, I wouldn't worry too much about several small transactions vs. one large one.

Typically if you are a high volume transactor, which the campaign obviously is, they do it by a flat percentage. Usually 1-1.5%

I get charged 2.44% plus 23 cents an authorization.

Best thing is to use PayPal and use your bank account which won't incur any fees whatsoever.

Credit and debit cards will have fees on PayPal whereas withdrawing directly from your bank account will have ZERO fees on PayPal.
