The 2nd link did not say whether it was a US or Afghan troop that was killed. US ≠ US-trained.

The first link clearly says April 1st on it. Did you change it in your post?

In the bit you posted it even says Tuesday, which was April 1st.

It was uploaded March 31st, at night, and changed later.

See here (http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:mD0cQRf-cBcJ:www.nst.com.my/world/six-us-soldiers-killed-in-afghan-helicopter-crash-1.542991+&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us&client=firefox-a). (look at date in header)

edit: or, I guess it originally/at time of cache was posted with the date of April 1? (On March 31st @ 5:46 P.M.?)

Ok, so it was posted on the evening of March 31st....in the US. It was already Tuesday, April 1st in Afghanistan. The article clearly says the casualties happened on Tuesday.

If something happens at this instant across the globe, did it happen today, or yesterday? Both sides have an argument, haha.

Though, since the Pentagon is located in the United States, I would say that one should base the time on that.

The death certificates will say April 1st because it was April 1st where the incident happened.

Looks like it was March 31st in US when 6 US soldiers gave lives in Copter crash for pursuit of Operation Afghan Freedom and Pentagn was count dates from Afghani calendar.

In any case dates difference was trivial stuff but it did at least get some intertest in the loss of of life in the freedomn surge war.
