I donated 100 today... I plan to donate another 100 on the 16th.... should I donate that money now and remove my pledge from the teaparty?

Which is more important, hitting our number today or blasting our number on the 16th?

Donate today...then sell something on ebay and donate again the 16th.

do what you want its your money. However the sooner the campaign gets the money the better. They are using the money wisely in New Hampshire. I saw 2 ads during prime time between 8 and 10 on NBC last night.

Or split it, if you have the money today. You could give $50/$50 or $25/$75.

Wish I had that option, I'm broke til the 14th

I don't know, I would argue against the wisdom of spending too much money on TV commercials in an age where nobody watches them anymore. I like that grassroots blimp idea better. This is a new kind of campaign. The money should be spent in new kinds of ways. We need to stop trying to fight fire with fire and start using water instead.

I am sorry you do not know what you are talking about.

If that's all you have left to donate, go for it now! It'll benefit the campaign more.

Best solution:

Do what you think is right, not what a poll says.

No kidding.

We need money both days. If everyone donated based on a majority poll then either the campaign won't have the money it needs to make it till the 16th or all the work for the 16th would be for null.

Just do what you want, things will balance out.

I had $1900 left to donate, so I put in $200 today and probably at least $200 more on the 16th (probablt a LOT more).

My question is, should I donate all $1700 remaining now?

Paul said they are having trouble figuring out how to spend all this money they got....I am sure it was tongue-in-cheek but some of us might hold back because of that statement, as well as others who just learned of him...

If you can afford it, and you think the Tea Party will be a big enough hit without your full donation, then by all means, sooner is always better. (I'd hold $100 for the Tea Party just to be a part of it.)

But it is truly up to you.

I had $1900 remaining to donate as of yesterday and donated $750 of it toward the efforts today. Basically leaving me with $1150 toward the tea party.

Based on what is being said here, this is in fact hurting the Tea Party as some predicted. That is foolish indeed!

I pledged $100 for the tea party and will more than meet my pledge. The point of the tea party was to get 100,000 individuals to donate $100... not 4,500 individuals to donate $2300 at once.

As it stands I will donate for 11 individuals on the 16th

Don't think so. Giving money and seeing the totals go up and up are contagious - giving today will not affect the overall total on Dec. 16th - giving more now will help to raise more money as people see the totals exponentially increasing.

Donate what you can today, and what you can on Dec. 16th. Simple. We need both.

I would say do whatever you want with your money, but a man/woman of his/her word knows what it means to keep his/her word. A pledge is giving your word.

I am sorry you do not know what you are talking about.

You are sorry if you don't realize that Ron Paul has only been breaking through due to the unconventional, grassroots efforts. Most people I know barely watch TV (especially Republicans) and of those that do, very few are watching the commercials anymore. If we merely try to compete against the Guliani's and Romney's on their terms, we'll lose. The official campaign needs to adopt the vibe of the grassroots campaign if we're to have any chance.

New Hampshire is indeed critical here, but we don't want to pull a Buchanan either, with no follow up. Going door to door has taught me that the vast majority of people still haven't a clue who Ron Paul is. Commercials are expensive and provide less bang for their buck than many other advertising venues. We can only really afford to put them on in the early states. With super Tuesday less than a month after the NH primaries, we can't afford to wait for a NH win to surge us ahead. We need to be doing more in the other states now. Since our money is starting to stretch thin, we need to think of alternative ways to get the message out.

If possible, donate today, then scramble to come up with the money for the TeaParty. You've got 15 days to come up with the teaparty money, and I trust you're industrious enough to pull it off.

Yes, and then eat cat food for the rest of the month so you can donate again.
