American taxpayers are already picking up the tab on abortions and contraceptives so there is nothing new to see here:

”We determined not only that there is no compelling medical reason for the ban, but also that the ban itself is an expensive, damaging and unfair barrier to health care access for the approximately 15,450 transgender personnel who serve currently in the active, Guard and reserve components,” . . . It estimated that 230 transgender people a year would seek such surgery at an average cost of about $30,000. . . . The Williams Institute, a think-tank based at UCLA, estimates about 15,500 transgender personnel are currently serving, nearly all under their birth genders and not transitioning in an appearance-altering way.

Sure why not, let’s Hegelian this issue; so now the entire Bradley Manning situation all makes perfect sense ():

“When you closet someone, you create a security risk, and we don’t need another Chelsea Manning,” Kolditz said, referring to the soldier formerly known as Bradley Manning who came out as transgender after being sentenced for leaking classified documents to the website WikiLeaks.

Wait - did he just say that if the military paid for sex change surgery, Bradley Manning would not have leaked the cables?

To me, that's an argument against it. Moar leakz!

I know someone who got breast implants through the military. She claimed to have "low self-esteem" and they approved it. I'm so glad tax dollars were spent on this.

You cannot have low self esteem with any titties in America , someone wants to see them , therefore this builds esteem . Next .

It seems like the military is the prototype for a hypersocialist society.

Great! Pajama boy will be able to join the Marines now since he will only have to meet the female PT standards.

Not until they get rid of those uniforms that could cause a ph imbalance on his skin.

Uh, he died. http://www.ibtimes.com/stalking-cat-man-dennis-avner-found-dead-apparent-suicide-883338

Hard to believe that someone who did that to himself wasn't happy on the inside.

I would weep with him if I could , I am past tears , it is every man for himself . It was a sad day when I actually realized that some years ago . I try to set a good example , but in the end , am really not all that much different than where I started .

It is, and its hilarious. I deploy shortly. However, they found it genious to move my battalion into a 198 million dollar barracks. This place is like 5 star hotel nice. Maybe only a 4 star because it doesn't have a bar, pool, and hot tub...Seriously this place is insanely nice...but the hot water doesn't work. LOL! You freaking kidding me?! Imagine staying at a Marriott or Hilton and the water not working. That is what I am living in. Chow Hall...well I rate 3 meals there a day...but of course I am lucky to get two. Medical? Well sometimes you win the lottery (I got free PRK...thanks tax payers!) but typically if you have medical problems your SOL. Drink water, change your socks, and if your bleeding out, missing appendages, etc maybe, just maybe you can get some motrin.

Well , I got a hotel near Pensacola once in 1988 for $10 , it was cold and there were even snow flurries , naturally , no hot water , I was in a hurry and had already pd cash , or I would have asked for at least half my money back ..... I had stayed in a hotel in Montana once prior for $12 , nice bar and dining room and hot water , I had a steak & a beer , they did not even charge me for the beer , :) , I would have pd double , both times , just for hot water & a cup of coffee .
