Raleigh, NC – U.S. Senator Mike Lee (R-Utah) announced today his endorsement of Dr. Greg Brannon for U.S. Senate in North Carolina's Republican Primary and says he plans to campaign for the tea party favorite in North Carolina later this month.

"2014 is a critical year for conservatives and once again, North Carolina is on the front line. The opportunity before us is the most important work conservatives have faced in a generation. It is the work of redefining our movement, rebuilding our party, and rescuing our nation."

"That’s why it is critical that conservatives win with a candidate who will not only commit to restoring the proper role of government, but also one who will put forward positive, specific policy proposals to get America back on track."

"Greg Brannon is dedicated to enacting a conservative reform agenda in Congress. He is willing to challenge the status quo and entrenched special interests. And he has pledged to work alongside myself, Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, and others in the Senate to change the way Washington works."

"Greg Brannon will be a strong voice for the people in the Senate and I am proud to endorse him," concluded Senator Lee.
Brannon thanked Senator Lee for his endorsement.

Since his grassroots fueled victory in 2010, Senator Lee has remained committed to fighting for the American people by honoring his oath to support and defend the Constitution and working to enact conservative solutions to the challenges we face," said Brannon.

Brannon added, "I'm eager to join him in the effort to repeal Obamacare, advance a conservative reform agenda, and restore constitutionally limited government to the U.S. Senate."

Greg Brannon is the only candidate in the country to be endorsed by both Senator Lee and Senator Paul.

FreedomWorks PAC, RedState editor -in-chief Erick Erickson, conservative author Ann Coulter, Congressman Thomas Massie, Congressman Ron Paul, National Association for Gun Rights PAC, Moore TEA Citizens, Conservatives for Guilford County (C4GC), Asheville Tea PAC, and the Beaufort Tea Party have also endorsed Brannon's campaign.

Elected to the U.S. Senate in 2010, Senator Mike Lee shocked the Republican establishment in what was considered by many a major victory for the Tea Party movement. Senator Lee is a conservative leader on Capitol Hill and he's defended the nation's constitutional principles as general counsel to Utah's Governor, an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Salt Lake City, and a clerk in the U.S. Supreme Court.

Cool! But poor Mike always seems to live in the shadow of Rand, and Cruz. I don't think I have ever read an article that mentioned Lee, without the others

Agreed, I have never understood why the liberty movement doesn't hold him up as an example more often.

I've met Lee twice, he's a great guy, remarkably well versed in the Constitution and definitely on par with Rand as a Senator.

Mike Lee is right up there and depending on what particular issue it is sometimes he appears more than Rand, who does his own thing.

Mike Lee also is better on immigration than Paul. The southern states hate immigration reform.

The NC Governor accused the bill that Tillis put on the floor of encouraging big business to hire illegals.

NC and Utah have been hurt by illegal immigration for a long time. 2 of the best Congressman on the issue were/are Mike McIntyre and Heath Shuler. Both Democrats in red districts.

If you look at who fights amnesty the most it has been Vitter, Sessions and DeMint. Trent Lott and Lindsey Graham complain about all the mean things that have been said to them by their constituents.

Now the hope is whether this translates into numbers, donations and more support for Brannon versus Tillis. I mean, would hardcore establishment Republicans who would otherwise vote for Tillis now see this as reason to vote for Brannon?

Mike Lee is an ethical lawyer. The hit on Brannon is the jury decision. Mike Lee doesn't endorse people who are unethical.
