In the 2007 Louisiana gubenatorial election the voting machines changed votes when the last item was voted on. Before you hit the enter key, make sure your preferred candidate is marked. All electronic voting machines are capable of this.

If you don't trust electronic voting, request an absentee ballot.

All electronic voting machines are capable of a lot worse. Don't use them PERIOD.

I'm glad the rEVOLution is waking up to the seriousness of electronic voter fraud. IMO it is absolutely critical to Ron Paul's victory. Watch these two videos then watch the 3rd to take action.

Absentee ballots are actually just as dangerous, if not more dangerous. It might be different in your state, but here in Maryland, the absentee ballots are counted in secret. Not only that, they still use Diebold machines to count them. That, however, is only icing on the cake. You have know way of knowing whether your ballot is actually counted. They use software to match up your signature, and it rejects quite frequently. In my state, they rejected thousands of absentee ballots.

From my understanding they don't count absentee ballots unless the margin of the other ballots is smaller than the amount of absentee ballots.

In Orange County Florida, we are asked if we prefer to vote electronically or with paper. The paper ballots are opti-scanned, but at least there's a paper trail.
