Sean Hannity has long been right-wing radio's dominant silver medalist, second only to the untouchable Rush Limbaugh. So when Michael Savage, his new competitor in afternoon drivetime, started throwing punches in the hopes of ginning up a public feud, Hannity demurred.

But now the first month's numbers are in, and in at least five of nation's largest markets, Savage is not only beating Hannity -- he's trouncing him.

Good. Savage is a little better

What does Savage think of Rand?

Hannity seems to love Rand, so that might be bad that he's losing audience if Savage doesn't like Rand.

Savage has no love for Rand but is still funny.

Ingraham was on Savage's show a week or so ago. Buchanan talks to Ingraham at times. It is interesting who they pal around with. Buchanan knows her from the Reagan Administration.

Levin and Hannity still defend Rubio. Savage and Alex Jones are sort of associates. Savage is on WND. So is Pat Buchanan.

Savage says Pete Wilson, Pat Buchanan and Michael Savage were the first major people to talk about borders, language and culture. But Pat Buchanan is not a good guy because he attacks Israel.

Savage is the only one who attacks Cruz. Alex Jones said Rand and Cruz are risking their lives.

I despise both of them. But at least Savage is fairly entertaining to listen to. Hannity, on the other hand is the most boring, milquetoast, radio host that I've ever heard. Even if I agreed with him, there's no way that I could listen to his show for more than 2 minutes.

Even if I agreed with him, there's no way that I could listen to his show for more than 2 minutes. I drive a long ways to work, and I would rather drive in silence than listen to Hannity. Don't even get me started on Levin, he's the biggest most grating douche of all.

Savage seemed like he tries to actually make an argument, whether or not you agree or disagree.

Hannity is mostly awful rhetoric. His arguments feel like they have huge gaps or he easily jumps to conclusions.

Also, I think Savage probably does have a streak of nationalism, but it's more mild and he's more likely to question policy decisions.

This intrigues me. Would love a link or reference or two. Don't get me wrong. I don't doubt it.

Savage doesn't like anybody.

Anyone who doesn't want to bomb mideast and then bring troops home the next day for all the "blowback" management by sealing borders and ports.

It's a shame any honest talking heads with even shred of intelligence are silenced/fired by media owners or audience. Things are slowly changing and with them are talking heads propaganda points too most of whom including Savage Michael Weiner are just wearing new costumes now according to season.

Jones is on good terms with most of WND and also would be in lock step with the birthers. WND is with Savage competing with Breitbart for that sort of audience.

Levin, Hannity and Limbaugh are aligned. Maybe Beck too. Breitbart defends Hannity's ratings

Maybe neocon Hannity should challenge the trotskyist Savage to a snowball fight.

I like listening to Savage and am happy that he's trouncing Hannity but just the other day he was interviewing Trump and falling all over him despite many disagreements including that Trump thinks Snowden should be executed. It's all about who can beat Hillary and clearly he hasn't been paying attention to what Rand has been doing in full and probably has his immigration position confused. Frankly, in some instances Savage is so out of touch with fellow conservatives and he's quite the loner living in Frisco and all.

Has Savage changed his rhetoric since, say 2007? That was probably the last I heard him on the radio, so I'm surprised to see people here liking him. He was about as anti liberty as you could get back then. Super nationalist theocrat.

He changed his mind on the Iraq War to opposition. He's never been a theocrat, he's an agnostic.

It's always enlightening to remember what Hannity built his career around.

The Sean Hannity Show began national syndication on September 10, 2001, on over 500 stations nationwide

Makes me wonder why Alex Jones is lauding him? Maybe the Israel connection?

Yeah, true. He's soft on the establishment candidates but he's constantly complaining that Cruz and Rand are sellouts for not wanting to end immigration. Glenn Beck is a much better IMO.

Glenn Beck is a much better IMO.It's funny you mention Beck because he had Hannity on his show today. They basically were fellating each other. Beck pretty much painted Rand as taking the establishment route to the white house and Cruz as the anti-establishment candidate. Beck even went as far (and I'm paraphrasing) to say that Cruz is a taking a chapter out of Ron Paul's book on telling it as it is.

So tell me again how good Beck is and why.

I guess 7 years of not listening to him has changed the "culture" part of his mantra to "white christian culture" in my head.

Our local AM station that carries all the right wing heavyweights dropped Beck a few years ago for Huckabee who is absolutely awful. And last month they dropped Hannity for Savage. Levin is the worst without question though.

Beck is a smart guy, he knows the "establishment" route is the winning route. He suggested Rand was stronger as a candidate than Cruz in his previous Rand vs. Cruz discussion with Stu.
